can a ecu be the cause of burning oil?
So i have a 97 prelude sh, boosted. now i blew my ecu with some jumper cables long story and i took it to a mechanic cuz i had no idea what was wrong with it. but anyway he figured out i blew my ecu and the dumb dude gave me a stock ecu. now he gave it back to me, its just a disaster. before i blew the ecu everything was mint on the car, now i know i need a aem ecu or something along those lines for it to run good cuz right now it runs like ****, but why is it burning oil? could my engine now be burning oil because the ecu isnt compatible with it?

No, the ECU will have no effect on the engine burning oil. However, with the stock ECU if either of you guys beat on the car at all, you easily could have damaged something internal. Start with checking to see if the turbo is burning the oil because of bad seals, and go from there. Do a compression test, that's always something good to know on your own car anyways.

if it overfuels the chamber and washes the oil from the walls, it can. but thats only if the tune is awful or u are running big injectors on a stock computer
