Biggest headache ever!! READ THIS HELP
so yesterday i picked up my msd 6al with 2 step. I installed it into my 95 h22a1 prelude sodered everything together and turned the car on. Started up perfectly fine and drove well. Tried 2 step and sounded awesome and drove fine for the whole night i drove it...then i went home, came bak out to get some food a couple hours later........
As im driving back home i saw a friend and stopped and i reved up my two step and then the car stalled... i turned it back on and it started then turned off and wouldnt start ever again
I checked fuses, main relay, spark, blah blah blah
Towards the end i couldnt feel my body so i had my dad tow my car home with a tow dolly we had. Checked it over night and the fuel pump wasnt priming so i thought to myself Hmmmmm main relay??
today i ordered a main relay brand new out the box slapped it on and NO FUEL PUMP PRIMING!!!!!!!!!
did some tests ect ect NOTHING
i switched ecu back to my Stock P13 and guess what? STARTED priming
I cranked the motor and it started but 1 sec later it stalled out and would keep doing this back and forth....
I then removed my msd and hooked up my coil directly and STARTED and runs fine
now im wondering, what caused this problem in the first place? AND also why evertime i try to put my msd ignition back in, it turns on but stalls 1 sec later? and yes wiring is all hooked up right

Sounds like an intermittent problem with the fuel pump, though it is odd about ur msd ignition, as far as I know the ignition doesn't have to do with ur fuel pump priming.

as stated, i wouldnt think your msd shouldnt effect the priming of your fuel pump. i vote you double check your soldering. when you reved up your car you might have broke the solder points with vibration and created a short? im not familiar with msd ignitions tho. so bump for some help.

could be a faulty box.....did you put rubber bushings between the msd box and where your mounting it? should have a warranty, atleast 90 days, take pics of the install to email to the company you bought it from or even MSD direct. they should have a customer service number.

MSD is pretty good about answering their tech forums (www.msdignition.com); they can also give you a base price on getting it fixed, although they will tell you that not much can go wrong with the 6AL, either it works or it doesn't. I bought an MSD Digital 6+ used that I've also been having problems with but haven't had the time to really dig into. One of the things that was recommended to me by MSD tech support and that I would pass on is to check your ground connections and make sure they really are good and that your 6AL is connected straight to the battery; the box is basically an amplifier, meaning it's making the ignition and electrical signals stronger, so if you have a bad ground it can cause problems in other electronic components, quite possibly your fuel system in this case. Let us know what happens...
