Ugly, but true. For people with similiar set-ups my dyno #'s were about 25 whp off. It was sad, I wanted to drive the car off of the nearest ******* cliff. If I didn't owe so much on it, and hadn't spent so much on it, I think I would have been trying to sell it that same week; but no one would have bought it, cause it's an automatic!
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Please stop trying to defend your **** shift. you might give someone the wrong idea and they might go out and buy one </TD></TR></TABLE>
There is no way to defend it. I wish I'd done my homework before I bought my car, I wouldn't be pissed now. I was going to turbo mine, but the +- 30% rule will hold true no matter what I do to it. I'd need 355 at the crank to get 250 at the wheels; that's just ridiculous. That explains why no one can run a conssistent 13 in a boosted SS.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">btw - my shop quoted me 2100 for a manual tranny and swap......

That's a very good price if it includes labor.</TD></TR></TABLE>
No ****, if thats parts & labor that rocks. I'm having a problem here finding anyone to even help me do my swap, whenever I get the money/parts together anyway.

Shark: I know where I'm getting the tranny itself, but any idea where on the 'net to get the other parts? Keep in mind that I live in Shitsville, VA not Cali like you lucky dogs...Thanks!

Some of us are simply making do with what we have.

Cars such as the bmw shifting through the steering wheel still puts people in 13 stock. How is this shitty. But the ss is a whole different story and yes 2100 includes a perfect h22 tranny and all parts neccessary for the swap. Possibly lsd. IM getting this done in 9 months. When Im not under warranty and more of my car is paid off.

yeah but steering wheel sequentials are no fun. plus i just don't feel comfortable shifting during hard cornering without being able to heel-toe, and u just can't do that wit a tippy...

also, i hear the OEM H22 LSD isn't as reliable or as effective as a quaife...

not true i have an ss with a greddy kit kicking at 210 whp if that makes a difference, and i have beaten wrx's on straight 1/4miles as well as 350zx and tt300zx by more then 1 1/2 cars. so please lay off i know an ss sucks and all but if you change your fluids every 15-20 you'll be fine. boosting at 7psi

I agree, about the 15-20 ATF change and there is a better fuild than honda's I don't know what I have in mine but My TC locks in pretty good. I'll get back on the fluids.

You really should be changing the tranny fluid sooner than 15k if you are boosting.

The tranny DOES suck. I don't know about others in this thread, but I'm not going to lay off of that. I can say it all I want, I DO own one, and it's boosted. The tranny has a high early failure rate. That's why Honda finally conceded and gave 2000-2001 models a 100k mile warranty on it. They know there is a problem with it.

I can't justify a $2000+ Tranny overhaul/rebuild unless you find one laying on the side of the road like I did.

To comment on the paddle shift they are F1 design to keep you from leaving the steering wheel. I road races I don't want to leave the Wheel. I know set ups in different cars that still have a Clutch peddle, so you can go Heel-toe w/ them, I don't brake in corners (engine braking).

hey shark,

i just got tuned today...... i made:

200WHP
200TQ to the wheels @3000rpms after that the torque is like tabletop.

but it was like 91 degrees out in high humidity(atlanta, ga weather sux for cars). i dont know what kind of dyno it was but it was an in-ground one. i'll re dyno in the winter to see if the numbers change.

as of now the car feels extremely strong off the line and the first 3 gears pull hard and 4th pulls hard if i can get my rpms up and keep the turbo boosting.

how often should i change my tranny fluid and what do u recommend?

4 months and counting to a manual tranny!!

Pete

unfortunately I have ss/ san marino/ I love that color/ its about 20 minutes south of atlanta in forest park. Not far from shitty southlake mall.

its hosted by nati productions, its mostly a rave with flawless cars everywhere.

They bring in exotic dancers and they do performances, all kinds of giveaways and raffle prizes, 15 before midnight 20 after. There will be a break beat room, hip hop room, and vip which is 40 from the shop or 50 at the door. which includes private parking etc, cocktails, drinks, seperate rooms with more exotic models etc.

I dont know if you have ever seen that white wide body prelude(it was just at hotimport nights) \ my shop did that.

I think its the best looking lude ive ever seen.

i say go greddy turbo, driving my car is like night and day.....plus the sounds the turbo and BOV make are just awesome.....u should see some of the looks i get driving around. i even got props from 2 NSX's and and Rx7's.i remember pulling into a meet accelerating just enough to get the BOV to discharge and before i could park i had people swarming my car.

there is a meet tommorrow night at north point mall next to fuddruckers, it usually has a pretty good turnout.
