so my car vibrates only on accelertion, and ive replaced axles, upper and lower ball joints, new innovative engine mounts, and the car still vibrates, any ideas.

did you put band new axles in or rebuilds? i have had the same vibration from bad inner cv joints, had to get 3 diff axles once before they gave me one that had a good inner joint.

that wheel bearing assembly sure looks like a 90-97 accord part to me. I hve never seen a prelude that did not require the press to replace wheel bearings.

i have the same problem my car vibrates so bad when accelerating. ive replaced the axles with brand new ones with no luck and have replaced some but not all of the ball joints. tie rods replacement next. But to answer your question my friend had really bad vibration in her accord and she got a couple of her wheel bearing replaced which seemed to do the trick. i dunno if that is my problem though becasue this only started after i switched from auto to manual

did you check the balance on the wheels ? That can cause a vib only at certain mph. However i forget if it would cause it on both decel and acceleration.

yes i have replaced my axles at least 4 times, all new ones from advanced and i have heard they are bad, but i think a diff axle would change the symptoms in some way or another and they dont, same vibration only on acceleration, at 35 - 50 mph

yes i swapped out my buddies wheels and it changed nothing. and im not leaning toward axles cuz generlly axles shake at all speeds upon acceleration.

Your problem might be the Innovative motor mounts. Stiff mounts cause vibration.

iwas thinking the same thing about the mounts causing it, but its weird how is only at certain mph/ acceleration, i thought it would be all the time, and its not just a litlle vibration, its pretty bad.

but today i noticed its more coming from the front end and less from the steering wheel.

Just a thought on this, through your car safely up a good set of Jacks, and have someone shift through the gears while car is on, and search (while standing on the side of the engine bay)for the cause of the vibration.(also make sure you aim the car away from all objects, like do it in the street, not aiming at your garage, or other cars.

yeah i may try that, but i dont think i will really be able to see the vibrations. have you done this before?

ive seen flywheels cause this, aftermarket one anyway.

youve seen them have these exact symptoms or just vibrations, my flywheell is stock just resurfaced

When I had a problem that would start with avibration around 40 and get worse as I drove faster the cause turned out to be a damaged driveshaft and slightly bent rim. Does the vibration go away above 50 mph?

Who resurfaced it? Could they have off balanced it? (clutch)

IF your front end is jacked and your front tires are spinning you should be able to see the vibrations. Use a stethoscope on your motor and tranny to isolate vibrations while running.

In your case id start with wheel balancing first. Have them balanced on the car too (ofcourse). Having it only at a specific speed indicates its a harmonic vibration (vibrations that only occur when something rotating,reaches given speeds)
So yeah, start with cheapest repairs and go from there.

I highly doubt its your mounts unless they arn't sitting or torqued properly. If your confident they were installed perfectly i'd ignore that possibility.

I would doubt your axles are fuked either, unless again missinstalled. (but I doubt that too)

I would start a list of things you'ved replaced before your vibrations and after and then start scratching them when you isolate your vibrations to a specific location.

Also, with front end jacked and car not running wiggle your wheels left/right, and up/down to see if any play. Spin them and look at them from the front to see if they wobble untruely.

Good luck dood. My work truck does the same and it drives me up the wall. I make sure I go 120 Km/H or I go 80 KM/H because anything inbetween causes vibrations that would throw a weak grandma out the window.

My 2000 does that but from 45-75..I got used to it already..I changed everything (axles, rims, tires) and checked the bearings and mounts..The only thing left that I can think of is the Rack and Pinion..I heard that **** goes out to..

my car was fine until i switched it from automatic to manual...do u think the findanza 8lb flywheel has anything to do with it?

It sounds like its something inside the Tranny itself. Like a Faulty gear almost.

ive switched trans so im sure its not that: the vibrations are still there with both trans, ive done all the wheel balancing and axle ideas, and yes the car drives smooth as butter after 50 mph,
i appreciate all the input, please DON'T stop, but what im really looking for is if someone has experienced my problem, but came up with a sloution to fix it
