Auto tranny going out?
Hi all,
I have a 2001 Prelude Base with automatic tranny and it has about 81k miles on it. Here is my situation; for about a week now my auto tranny has been acting up on me. Every morning(cold start) when car shifts from 1st to 2nd gear the tranny hesitate, delay, and finally jerk to 2nd gear. This is only happening between 1st and 2nd gear. D light not flashing and no check engine light. After driving the car and all warmed up hesitation, delay, and jerking goes away and the car is normal, no problem at all.
Is this a sign of tranny going out soon? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also, the tranny was flushed a year ago by Lube Center so fluid is kind of new.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Auto tranny going out?
Mine started out doing that, and eventually got stuck in which ever gear is was first engaged. Mine had 198k miles so cant complain, I picked up a used JDM at tranny from HMO in burbank for a cheap price. Im sure this tranny will suffer again down the line, but seems trouble free and perfect for now. Under $700 installed. Most rebuilds or used ones cost hella more. Good luck

Re: Auto tranny going out?
yeah, i am having these symptoms too. we just have to face the fact that auto ludes have tranny problems... if you have a CEL on or if your D4 is flashing then it's more then likely that your tranny is done. with what you are experiencing now, you should be able to drive fine for a little while but i would suggest saving up for a new transmission.
