Icon6 auto/manual prelude?

what's the advantage of having both transmissions in a car? I'm searching for a 97/98/00 honda prelude and I foind one that appeals to me, but it runs with both transmissions.

The car does NOT have both transmissions in it. It's an automatic transmission that you can switch to shiftronic mode which allows you to control the upshift and downshift. This is why they (whoever is selling it) refer to it as auto/manual. A car can only have one transmission either automatic or manual. Even if it's shiftronic it's still considered an automatic because it doesn't fully allow you to upshift and downshift at will. It has an idiot saver where if the car will over rev it will automatically switch to the next higher gear when the rpm gets too high. It also doesn't let you downshift unless it's on a safe rpm.

Get a manual. Auto transmissions on 5th gen preludes have issues. Some do some dont but why take a chance.

manual prelude all the way.. do not get the automatic ones cause sooner or later youre gonna have to swap the automatic tranny. if you get another automatic tranny, it can cost up to like 500 bucks without labor.. and from what i see, the manual transmission is cheaper if it ever crap out on you.

Mine works fine on 5g prelude, i always drive in manual mode(5 years), occasional beatings still works like charm. Yes it wont let u down shift in high rpm but on up shifts u can take it all the way to fuel cutoff. There is company i think its called level 10 performance and the can bulletproof ur tranny.

tiptronics are slow at shifting ive hit the rev limiter in my car countless times because of the lag it has between shifting. go manual or go home.
