Default Aftermarket H22A Header downpipe hitting oil pan.

Bought an H22A swap with some aftermarket headers. Header downpipe touches the oil pan. Does the downpipe on your H22 touch the oil pan?

My cheapo header didn't at first, but enough time dragging the car over speedbumps and such, it does now.

I never saw a speed bump in my life so that wouldn't work.

I have a DC Sports header, they have 2 different options.
I have the one that says JDM style.
Part # HHC5029

Does anybody know what the clearance to the oil pan is on the other option?
Part # HHC5009

if you "After-Market" header comes with a mounting bracket at the back of the engine block i think it shouldn't lean against the oil pan anyhow.... for clearance as my mugen header,10mm or 15mm something like that....

The piping under the oil pan from front to back is touching. Wasn't talking about the mounting bracket I would have hacked it off a long time ago.

What motor do you have USDM or JDM? If JDM whats the part number? Its going to be on the flange where it bolts up to the cylinder head.

Thanks I really appreciate the help. Gave me the part number and everything. About how much space do you have between the oil pan and the down pipe?

I would say maybe an inch and a half or so.

I had to bend a Bisimoto header to fit correctly. It had zero clearance and needed an inch or so before it would mount up. The Hytech header fit perfect, just had to notch the crossmember edge a bit (5th gen Base).

That's exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks again.

How did you bend the header to fit correctly?

I think he's saying he cut into the crossmember so the header would fit.

ive had hytech, rmf (replicas) both not fit my h22, hitting the oil pan.

Some heat and a bottle or floor jack properly placed jig, bend just past its memory and all was good. still using the RMF's that didnt fit.

Some heat? What kind of heat exactly? I was going to do this but Idk how hot I would have to get the pipe.

Thanks. If bending the pipe is a fail, this info will be a great help.

Looks like hes referring to two different headers here. A Bisimoto which he bent and a Hytech header. The hytech header he notched out the crossmember edge for it to fit.

Either way notching out a crossmember is not going to fix my problem.

Yeah, you don't want to have to do that unless you have to.

I'm going to end up extending the headers I have with some pipe and a tig welder.
