Accord Euro-R or Type-R Tranny
I am looking for the Accord Euro-R (JDM) or the Accord Type-R (UK) trannsmission. If someone knows which importer carries or can get one of these then please let me know . And don't tell me to search, i've been searching for weeks. Can't find anything . Just seeing if anyone already knows of a place or perhaps would like to help me search . I have the money right now so i'm just waiting to find one. Thanks ahead of time!

Re: Accord Euro-R or Type-R Tranny (AndyD)
I agree with AndyD. Also,if you have enough for the Euro R or Type r tranny, then just buy a nice lsd and drop it into your USDM tranny. The gearing in the transmissions is so close it really wouldn't make much of a difference, plus most name brand after market diffs are better then the ones that come in those trannies anyways.

Re: Accord Euro-R or Type-R Tranny (snowblind7x)
i posted this in another thread, if people are interested i started to collect information on converting a m2f4 to have the same gear ratios as a euro R. which would be much cheaper than buying a whole euro r tranny. I was working with pentaq he is the only user i know in the are of the country that has access to a honda dealer ship.
also he said he can get you one 4 grand shipped to your door brand new

4 grand for the Euro-R Tranny...? And can only the m2f4 be converted or can the m2b4 be converted as well?

You can't use a USDM housing with ATR gears. There is play in some of the gears.
I went from USDM to ATR. I recorded some times before and after for comparison. No other mods were performed.
Before/After
0-60 6.5/6.0
3rd gear pull 40-80mph 8.8/7.4
Local Road Course Lap Time 65/62
Granted the LSD had a major part in the 0-60 and Road Course times, but the third gear pull is attributed 100% to the better gearing.
For about the same price as a used ATR transmission, you could install a 4.7 final drive and Quaife.

i want to know more about running F-series 5th gears in a M2Y4.
i've never hit 5th on a road course, so i figure it'd save me some gas.
a 4.4 FD would be great too...or actually a 4.0 or something like it.

i haven't confirmed anything, nor have i bought any parts. alot of similiarites can be foudn between part numbers between the m2 series and the euro r . i think that it can be done , but i would need to get all the stuff and figure out what is needed.
and even if there is play that can all be taken care of with spacers in the right place. thats how you take care of wear in trannys .. add spacers.
edit:
i have compiled a list of parts that are needed other than the lsd, what would need to be purchased in the us and what would have to be so kindly purchased and shipped my pentaq. like i said it would be a **** tone cheaper than a whole tranny and then you buy your own lsd.
iteresting note 1-2 is double syncronized..

Mark (se93) is the one who sold me my ATR. The case got crack during shipping and he attempted to use a USDM case. He ended up ordering another ATR case in to make it work.
You might want to contact him first before you start.

Re: (RacingLude)
I was thinking about getting one of these transmissions, but the outrageous prices and 5th gear grind (that satan_srv informed me about) are kind of turning me off

yeah i doubt you can mate one hald euro r one half usdm, i just think that if you have a whole usdm you can make some of the euro r parts fit with correct spacing and all. i could be wrong,

yeah sorry about that , i thought that it was pertenant to the topic , but your going to be hard pressed to find one , unless you buy one brand new. i talked to pentaq the other day and he says he has a list of people already having him look for used trannys over there. they are just very hard to come by that why i was going to try and build my own

1250 for a good tranny, short gears and lsd all in one, or purchase a tranny, quaife ($900) and a 4.7($1200) final for about 2500 + ... hmmm...
