Screw backseats... just do what I did. Full cage (yes, 1020 steel, not some riceboy crap) and stereo.

This was still in the build stage.

The handling with 4WS is simply amazing, as on a curvy track the Lude can outhandle a lot of other cars, including ITR's (the Tegs will accelerate faster out of the corner, though, but there's nothing a Quaife can't solve..)
At every track day i go, i'm nearly the fastest through the corners.. The Si has problems overtaking ppl in straight line though, where the relative lack of power shows up.
I think it's where the 4th gen lude really shines.
Other than that: appearance (both inside and outside), comfort, reliability.. and easy to park with the 4WS. All these are strong points.
Negative points: rear seats purely decorative, tiny boot, interior panels $£@#&! hard to remove or put back on.

I'm going to briefly point out some downfalls:

- 92 and 93 Models: Extended center console
- 96+ Models: OBD2 (so I hear they it's a pain to deal with)
- I dislike having only one cup holder
- The dash is unique but I can't fully trust it.

I love that thing!!

Handy for storage, especially considering that the glove box is usless for anything over a couple sheets of paper thick!

I've had my rear sway bar bracket rip off completely from the body after I installed my sway bars. I've seen this happen to quite a few 4th gens. And the glove compartment is ghey. Aside from that I love my Prelude to death and will never get rid of it. I plan on getting buried in it.

I'm sure people can make good out of it. In my opinion, it just seems like it would take up some of your back seat area. It may not matter, since the back area is so compressed anyways.

I'm totally with you on this one. All I keep in my glove box is my user manual, and registration in a legal envelope. That thing is absolutely pitiful. Such a disgrace. But then again, our trunk is decently large inside. I know this first hand, especially from being trapped inside of it once before!

4ws = Si model here in the US.

They are manufactured by Recaro and I have seen them go for $800+ on eBay. But yes, I am going to admit, they are comfortable for some time, and after a long period of time sitting in them, they just hurt your back.

About the rattle, is it coming from the AC. I have a rattle under my dash, but opposed to your situation, mine is under the driver's side. It's just a loose piece under the AC. Check to see if this is the same problem you have. Hope you get it figured out soon enough!

I love my 95 prelude... (dohc vtec) its got leather interior... the cable connection in the shifter adds for easy "banging of gears" (even on the stock throw)... vtec kicks in early than a GSR.... sure its heavy, and cramped.. but what do you expect from a sports car?

95 dohc prelude (2.2l... duh)
overall----

I think the 4th gen is great car overall.
Only bad things that I can think of have all been mentioned
: weight, cupholder, rearseats, glovebox!, digital dash...

I don't get why everyone is bitching about the seats. I love the seats! I know the 4WS is pretty rare around here anyway. I have never seen another one in MA...
Yes the "glove" box is no such thing. It's a manual holder. I put a receipt in there once and could not shut it. But you have the whole center console....
Rear seats hold your coat very well. This car is a 2+2 not a 4 seater!

Just an FYI if you are looking at getting the 4WS model especially, don't plan to have more than 1 passenger. If you put people in the back "seats" and take a corner at a decent speed the 4WS will shut off. It will restart itself when you restart the car but... just letting you know.

If your a smaller build the seats are great. I'm only 5'5" and 140 and I absolutly love my seats. I would sleep in my seats over my bed anyday! Front seats that is.

Yes, I am 4'10", and the seats are roomy for me, but regardless of size, sitting in those seats for a long ride get's to be painful.

Another thing I dislike about my car is the lug pattern. I still, to this very day, am in love with the SSR Competition rims, but I'm not willing to do a 5-lug conversion. Seems that all the fun rims don't fit our generation lude.

This may be off topic, but I have fit 6 people in my lude, including 2 big males. It was a squish, but boy was that some fun!

Hey Jon! I step into H-T every once in a while.
