5th gen BB6 passenger side mirror cracked...
My 5th gen BB6 passenger side mirror cracked for whatever reason and I called Honda and apparently I can't replace just the mirror part. But I called another place and they said that they have a mirror that can fit the lude, but it's not heated... Does anyone know what's the difference between a heated mirror and a non-heated mirror? I thought that the heat's generated behind the mirror... anyways, does anyone know if only the mirror part is replaceable??? Is there a difference between the Canadian prelude mirror and the US prelude mirror? thx!

The heating element and connector is actually part or the mirror, not seperate.
I find this funny that dealer does not sell the individual mirror... Have you checked auto salvage yards???

The difference between the usdm and cdm are heated stuff, ie: mirrors. you're lucky, wish I got heated mirrors when ice forms on my mirrors during the winter. We never get anything good in the US.

Re: 5th gen BB6 passenger side mirror cracked... (donz)
Here's what I found after a crap load of searching and calling honda...
Passenger side mirror glass for 98 Prelude:
Honda Calgary (CND prelude-heated)
honda part # 76203-S30-C01
$94CND
Manchester (usdm prelude-non-heated)
33518 MIRROR, R. (1400)
honda part # 76203-S30-A01
$20USD
Canadian Tire (non-heated)
$25CND
It appears that the difference between the heated glass and the non-heated glass is a heating element that's attached to the glass. So, yes there is a difference. But the question is whether the non-heated glass will "fit" in the mirror assembly if you simply disconnect the heating connector and use it as a non-heated mirror? Also, I have NO idea how to change the glass out of the mirror. Is it glued on or is it screwed on? The canadian tire guy said that they'd have to remove the whole mirror housing to replace just the glass!! I was like, WTF??? Highway robbery!!!
