2001 prelude with a f20b
Hey HT,
I just recently did a swap on my 2001 prelude. I blew my original h22, so I bought a jdm f20b motor to replace. My car is turbo and tuned with a hondata p28 ecu and hondata s200. After doing the swap I tried starting the car but no go.
I swap the manifold from my original h22 and distributor. The only thing that is different is that there is no crank position sensor on the JDM F20B. So I left that unplugged.
At the moment I am not getting any spark. I replace the external coil but still no spark. Im getting fulel and the fuel pump is priming. The ECU is turning on bc the s200 box lights up.
Any help=???? I would greatly appreciate it...

Re: 2001 prelude with a f20b
The fuel pump is priming, I'm getting fuel just no spark.
I did the crank position sensor bypass trick from the ffsquad website. I bypass the two wires on the C plug of the ecu.
And I am still not getting a spark. as far a a resistor box I would have to check, I have 550cc RC injectors. Like I said it was tuned previously with the original motor on a Hondata p28 - obd2a ECU and a s200.
Any other ideas what would cause not to have a spark?

But clearly you know more than me so ima let you figure it out now.

If you have "bypassed" the crank position sensor, the ECU has no idea where in it's stroke the engine is, so of course you don't have spark.
You need to have every sensor and switch set up exactly like your old engine was for the ecu and tune to work including the Throttle position etc. Also, with a different engine size and compression, you REALLY need a new tune, especially with a turbo. Have fun with that on S200, it is obsolete from Hondata now, so might be time to step up to S300.
