What's everyone's opinion on Triumph/MV Augsta?
My f4i is going to be turned into a track only bike at the end of the summer, and I want to get another bike for street use. I'm thinking about the Triumph D955 or the MV Augusta F4. I cant find any otd prices on the F4 though. Opinions? First hand experience?

I've never personally had a F4 or seen one in person. Frow what I've gathered it's a Japanese style engine with European styling. Best of both world? Dead Sexy is all I can say.
But that's about it. LoL Don't know too much.

I owned a '03 Triumph Speed Four-same as tt600 just naked. It was the best handling bike I've ever ridden(keep in mind I owned an '03 R6 for a short while also) I loved the bike and look of it and also not having what everyone else had. But at the end of the day it just had too many problems for me to feel comfortable hopping on it everyday and trusting my life to it. I do blame alot of this experience on Triumph's dealers though, they all are a bit snooty and if you're not in their little clique good service is hard to come by. Also known problems are not that well covered by Triumph, you would usually come across recalls by surfing chat groups. To summ it all up, I just purchased an '02 F4i and sold the S4 at a loss of $1,100 with only 700 miles on the clock.....
PM me if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to answer them.

There was just a recall on basically ever fuel-injected Triumph ever made, some kind of fuel leak I think...
They're cool bikes and have a lot more 'character' than Japanese motos, but the quality control is not the same (note: not speaking from personal experience, just based on the anecdotes I have heard + all the recalls I have seen issued).

Yeah I'm not sure how much an F4S is these days. I found an article saying that it was $18,995 msrp for an '02.

i have a friend that used to own a Triumph. he said that it used to leak a good amount of oil and when he took it to the dealership the told him it was just "weeping" and that it was normal. that would scare me a little

I went to a Triumph dealership today. The Daytona 600 is very very nice. Didnt really like the 955 though.
I want to see the f4 in person, but the closest dealership i know of is a few states away

Len, I saw one in a dealership in Shibuya (Tokyo); drop dead gorgeous.
The motor is an inline four, but has a few exotic touches like radial valves, a very trick frame and swingarm, cassette-type gearbox, and of course the bling exhaust.
Can't really argue bout the looks, can you? Especially not the Senna version...
I'm sure Luke could tell you more about the old-skool MVs like the ones Agostini used to ride
