Compared to the 03 - 05 , there not nearly as attractive. The only thing i like about this model is the super thin tail. I think the front end is hideous. And the large fairing that runs from top to front with the out of place vent is
Also, the fact they put a huge redline on them, than did a recall saying its only really..*insert whatever the actual redline was* is a tad gay.
I think yamaha took a turn for the worse more or less..

I like how they look but from the cockpit, the front of the bike seems a bit wide due to the fairings. Also, the seat isnt too comfortable when putting my legs down since its a bit wide (comfy when I'm in the riding position though)

hurry up and get your bike yoshi so you can't come out riding with me and ben.
as for the 2006 R6 the sideview looks really good. just something about the front end i'm not too fond of. i think probably because it looks like a preying mantis with fangs.

I love em. I think they are even better than the older R6's and better than any other 600cc. The main reason is because its the lightest 600cc and has the best suspension and chassis. I read a shootout b/t the 2006 600cc and they said it feels more and more like a TZ.

Couldn't have put it any better
However, I would still take one

Wash your mouth out. No lardy 600 diesel is ever going to 'feel' like a GP bike, stupid journo's.
Oh and I prefer the new R6, its starting to look like a bike at last. Although if you must spend $$$ then why not take this...
Some torque, more power everywhere than a 600 and within a few pounds in weight.

That's the one I'm getting. I would like the yellow but they only made a certain number of them so I'm getting the black one. If you see them in person you will just fall in love with them.

sat on one a couple months back, personally i think that the bike is really cramped and the ergos are very uncomfortable and im a little guy too 5'8" 140. I sat on the GSXR600K6 a week later and it felt much better, to me at least.

The new Gixxers are very comfy. I think Suzuki is making the right call by producing a SS bike for everyone. How much more extreme can the current machines get before they are absolutely impossible for anyone but the most skilled riders?

What do youexpect from More Crap than News? Anyone who thinks a 600 is similar to a GP250 hasn't got a clue.

Re: what do you think of the 2006 R6? (Luke)
So talented you stopped riding? lol
Seriously, though. Unforgiving bikes with bad ergos don't belong on the street for the most part, since there are only a few riders that can ride them without putting themselves at risk. But most riders aren't willing to forgo the sportbike look, sound, and cool riding position. So to Suzuki for making a sportbike that keeps pace with the rest of the Big Four (now Five), yet is as comfy as a YZF600R or something along those lines.

I quit for a year, people where sick of getting beat
Sportsbikes should be uncomfortable, they try to trade off race bikes so they should feel like them

Re: what do you think of the 2006 R6? (Ross R)
I think they're crap. It seemed like a gimmick from the beginning to advertise a 17.5k redline, and Yamaha has always tooted their own horn. When the recall letter went out, i wasn't surprised. There had been dyno results going around for a month or so showing it only redlined at 16.2K.
Also, the bike makes 20 LESS HP in the midrange than the previous year's model, and first gear is super long. This shouldn't even be a street bike, what's the point, it'd be no fun. They should just take off the lights and fender and call it a track only bike.
I'd rather ride my F4i. The only redeeming feature is the cool little GP exhaust, but the GSX-Rs are a better bike all together.

I hate to admit it, but if I had to buy one SS this year, it would be the Gixxer. I'm only so brand-loyal, lol...
