Trying to come back to the /26 (!!!)
Aw man does anyone have the OG /26 banner that someone created? I think Luke had us take it down for some reason.
Anywho, I'm looking to come back. Moved out of the house, so I had to sell the Civic. I'm in an apt now, 1st floor (guess why), and I drive a Mini 24/7. I'm heavy into mtn biking, but I'd like to get back on 2 wheels with a motor.
Looking for some advice, especially reliability-wise. I've been looking at the Yamaha sumo, since the guys at my office seem to rave about it. But I just don't think it'll cut it when I go on my 10-12 hr rides in the mountains. Oh yeah, and I need a passenger seat.
I'm done with the ss bikes, so I've been looking into the sv's and monsters. I know that sv's are bullet proof, but how about the monsters? There's a lady selling an '05 620, I know it's a dog but honestly I'm not looking to ride like I used to (I'm old). Also, there's an '06 Firebolt for sale in my area as well, holy mother that thing looks so hot. I think both the monster and the Firebolt are FI'd? I'm looking at the 599, too, I know it's carb'd but no matter.
Any info is appreciated. :D
ps - Spies and Edwards are going to be so money next yr!

Daddy Herb, how's the family?
Thanks, the comeback isn't 100% yet. :p
I've already ditched the monster idea, the lady already had a leak issue fixed and I believe they have 3k service intervals? (!) Bike's only got 5k miles on it.

What about a vstrom? I used to have a SVs that was great. Only thing I'd recommend is to either revalve the forks or drop them out in trade for some gsxr ones.

We're good. Baby #2 was born in September, so I've got my hands full (of dirty diapers). But everything else is smooth.
Are you heading back out to the best coast any time soon?
Funny, a buddy and I were talking the other day about getting rid of our sportbikes (my 636, his Ducky 996) and picking up cruisers to putt-putt. I want Honda, he's thinking Harley. But we'll still be friends...
...maybe.

Shadow Phantoms are hot, Herb. Probably not enough umph for ya. I was going to try to make it out to next year's Laguna GP, but I think I'm headed to Montreal for F1 (gotta save some vacation days for my annual trip to Japan). I do need to make it out there before I get married, otherwise I'll never see you for sure. I'd love to see the little ones.
It's looking to be an sv, but I'm going to sit on it for another week. There IS a CB-1 for sale. Wanna hump it.
