Try on several different manufacturers. They all fit differently.

Generally speaking, you get what you pay for.

I have a Hein Gericke Celtic one piece from sportbiketrackgear.com (i think they are the exclusive distributor for this suit).
great suit, great price. I'm really happy with it. Comes with a better back protector than any other suit ive seen too, which saves you some more money (its actually a serious protector, not some flimsy piece of foam). Probably better than any suit under $1000, yet its only ~$600 (and they were selling green ones for even cheaper a while ago, since noone wanted green..)

SportbikeTrackGear is located in Michigan. I talked with Rob from motonation (distributor of sidi and some other brands here in the US) and he told me those guys are probably the best in the country in terms of customer service. www.sportbiketrackgear.com

Check em out.

STG is a great store. I buy from them all the time.

I will say a) fit is most important. and b) you can find great suit deals on craigslist.

I picked up my last suit (A* MX-1) for $450 off craigslist.

I bought a Frank Thomas XTi one piece that was on sale with a Dainese back insert. I haven't gotten to use it anywhere other than riding with it on the street a couple times but I like it so fair. It's inexpensive to a lot of other suits too.
