The amount it's off will depend on how much you change your gears... but the change could be considerable. Are you gearing up or down?
Oh and I found a pic for you...

The Speedo Healer corrects the speedometer from reading incorrectly when you change your gearing. I believe it also applies to stock/unmodified bikes, since they're already a bit off.
I don't know if it applies to the odometer, though, but I would guess so.

Here is another one. http://www.jahlmandesign.com/s...r.htm
I changed my gearing to 15/41, speedo is off by about 14 percent.

if your speed sensor is on the wheel than it does not effect anything. it is prolly on the tranny tho, and if so, then yes gearing will make your speedo and odo read high. most people i know that recalibrate use this, the Yellow Box: http://www.blackrobotics.com/
