Default Pics of my bike. Take a look.

I asked earlier today about a paint stripper.. I found this stuff that kicked ***. By the time i had brushed it on the paint was already bubbling off.. Made it SOOO easy.. So, here are some pics of my bike before the rim and now after the rim is done.. im doing the front tomorrow..
ANyways here ya go..

Before

Rim during masking.

This is RIGHT after i wiped off the paint. I didnt polish it at all.. Thats how it came off. Later, once i get the front done, im gonna wet sand it with 2000 grit then buff it with a wheel.. Get it more chrome looking

All done and put together.

and on the bike we go.

There ya go. What i did for the paint was went to a paint store, took a piece of my fairing they used their computer camera that takes 3 pics of paint and it finds the perfect match... Then i bought one of these canisters that has an aerosol top, or air, cant tell and it has a container on the bottom that holds the paint. Then got some real nice clear coat and i was all done....

ANyways, thanks for listening..

Its called Klean strip aircraft remover.

if your gonna do this, dont skimp on the products.. instead of using rattle can, have them mix you some paint and some reducer, and purchase one of those spray nozzles with the paint holder on the bottom.. works BEAUTIFULLY as you can tell..

PROPS!

I don't think I have the ***** to do something like that. I would be too scared that I would mess something up. But people WITH ***** get stuff done!

Looks nice!

Well, look at it like this.. If you mess up, clean it up and start over... The front wheel is gonna look alot nicer then the rear.. I may have to do the rear again at a later day... It looks good but there were some small things i coulda done to make it look a TAD bit better.... No one else would notice but me though.

Very nice work, also very nice Superhawk!

BTW will the unprotected "raw" lip start to tarnish like polished wheels? I would like to do this mod but don't like the constant polishing upkeep.

Well, i believe it will. Its raw aluminum just sitting in the open.. What you can do is go buy some GOOOOD clear coat in a can and clear them.. I didnt do that. I maybe should have... But honestly i dont see it being much cleanup really... its pretty easy to polish.. Just rub it on and off and your done...

I didnt polish the inside hub becuase THATTTT would of been some extra work.. This might take 5 mins or so.. Thats nothing for the look.

Nice, stripping wheels has been a pita in my experience. All the time, everytime. Must be the temp/humidity?

No, it was the stripper... I did one rim that was freezin cold, well, COLD... The other side was hot as ****.. Both of em ONNNN contact it bubbled right off.. Even the sand cast paint in the middle came RIGHT off also... The front rim i may strip completely.. havent decided yet...

Its a 1998 Honda VTR 1000. Vtwin fun...

i will post pics of the aerosol can thingy and the finished bike later.. Monday probably... Finished the front rim yesterday...

Here is the cost break down...
55 bucks for pint of red. Pretty much any other color wont cost that much. Red is just bank.
aerosol can thingy plus another can 15
stripper 9
polish 8
reducer 14
2 cans of clear 20

Total cost for paint, clear and all the products necessary to do it right was 110 bucks or so after tax... You can do it the cheaper way and get cheaper paint for HALF that price.. i just wanted it done right.. SO i can clean em when im done....

ANyways.. ill post pics later.
