Official 2008 Superbike Thread (AMA, BSB, WSBK) *SPOILERS*
Well the World Superbike season opener at Qatar is only 17 days and I figured we needed to give SBK racing some love with its own thread.
Right now I'd have to say it looks like the only Honda teams that will be starting the season with the 08 1000RR's will be Ten Kate, American Honda, and HM Plant Honda. To be honest it looks like all of them will be a little behind when they start the year because they got their bikes so late. Ten Kate is going to have its hands full with Bayliss, Biaggi, and Xaus on the Ducatis and American Honda is going to have to try to catch Spies and Mladin. I think HM Plant Honda might not do too badly against Airwaves Ducati's 1098's but we'll see. I think Airwaves might have a slightly better rider lineup (Shakey Byrne and Leon Camier).
Anyway, at least the 08 1000RR looks mo' better in race trim.
***WSBK Honda Teams***
Ten Kate Honda
Kenan Sofuoglu
Carlos Checa
Ryuichi Kiyonari
Stobart Honda
Gregorio Lavilla
Alto Evolution Honda
Luca Morelli
Shuhei Aoyama
Althea Honda
Roberto Rolfo
DFXtreme Honda
Karl Muggeridge
Russell Holland
***AMASBK Honda Teams***
American Honda
Neil Hodgson
Miguel Duhamel
Corona Honda
Matt Lynn
***British Superbike Honda Teams***
HM Plant Honda
Leon Haslam
Cal Crutchlow
Hydrex Honda
Karl Harris
James Ellison

Yeah Zemke is back on Erion Honda riding FX and Supersport.
Check out the Fontana test lap times. Not looking good for anyone not wearing the number 1 Superbike plate...

good for him i guess, it would have been cool to see him on the new 08 rr's in the superbike class. last year he was trailing duhamel, after he got injured, zake ended up getting third in the championships.

That's why he lost his ride IMO. Every year he has been on the team Duhamel has beaten him and he was beating him this year until he got hurt. If it hadn't be Hodgson replacing him it probably would've been Josh Hayes.
What I don't understand though is why Jake didn't go to Corona Honda or even Jordan Suzuki. I think he would've been a good score for either of those teams.

“We pretty much know we’re gonna be doing Indy and Laguna,” Spies told Roadracingworld.com February 6, referring to the MotoGP rounds at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September and at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in July. “It looks like we get to test it [GSV-R800] once for sure before then and hopefully twice. It should all be good, but definitely both American rounds, from what I understand. But it’s obviously not in the contract, so it’s not 100%. But that’s what they say, and I’ll be ready to do it.”

Re: (LSintegra)
That RR is sick! Ben Spies in MotoGP ftw! He's gonna do what Troy Bayliss did in Valencia in 2006. Walk-in as a sub.. walk out with a win.
Seriously, I think it's possible. I know MotoGP is hot **** but it's been done before. And rookies straight out of 250 are fighting for 1st.
Spies walks on AMA guys and I know he'd be more than competitive in MotoGP.

Prolly a good chance he may start in the American rounds!
I would like to see him make the switch to Motogp though!
Is anyone else excited to see Makota Tamada in WSBK on a Kawasaki?? I sure am!

I'd love to see Tamada do well but I don't know if he'll be able to deliver. He just hasn't shown his 2004 form at all since he switched to Michelins. I hope he does start doing well again though but the PSG-1 Kawasaki team hasn't done much of late.
I'm really interested in seeing how well Kiyo does though.
