lol its STILL just a kawai 250. Its not a race inspired 250 like the ones not offered in the states. They did very little for performance besides upgrading the brakes. Its the same old ninja 250 with better brakes and flashier plastics. Im a little suprised by all the bandwagoning here.
Is it a great move forward for kawi? yes. Is it going to be motivation for new people to pick up a smaller bike? yes. Is it worth a veteran rider with performance in mind to sell his current bike? I dont think so. Maybe if youre looking for a comfortable commuter with good gas mileage. Thats about it.

What is this crap?
Re: (Mag00n)
well you're entitled to your opinion.
there are more changes than you noted. engine, suspension, chassis (still steel) as well. yeah its not a supersport. yeah its still a steel frame, yeah there is no fully adjustable suspension. yeah no starbucks poseurs are going to drool over it.
thats not what more newer riders need anyway and you know that. this bike has been one of the top 10 selling bikes in the US for years. why? cause there's always people wanting to get into riding, and this bike makes a lot of sense in every way.
what this bike is missing in acceleration it makes up for in other ways. if you dont get it well, then you dont get it.

i completely agree with everything you said. What blows my mind is the people in here claiming to be selling their SV's and CBR's etc etc. Not because they want a commuter bike with good mileage but because its just 'so new and cool'.

Well, if the SV comment refers to my post, I wasn't jumping on the band wagon. I want one because I completely suck at corners on a motorcycle, and I wanted something slow to practice on. I also want one to commute on. I ended up going with the SV650 anyway though, I think for the amount of commuting and possible log travel distance the SV may be better.

Some people just like tiny, ultralight bikes. Especially if they're not ugly. The fact that it can be very economical is great too. To use a car analogy, this bike might be kinda like a Miata on two wheels.

Re: (Chris y0!)
One local dealer told me these are going to be late release and he wont see any until February '08. Another dealer I asked said I was "extremely pre-mature" when I said I wanted to buy one.
Wait til Feb??? (how brutal!) I'm getting a 650r instead.

i'll be picking one up just for the fun of it. in no way would i get rid of any of the other bikes.
just to cruise. teach the girlfriend on, or some buddies who want to get into riding. for the price tag you cannot go wrong.
