My first Honda
Today I bought my first Honda. I've been looking for a new bike since I sold my R6 mid-summer and I finally found exactly what I've been looking for. After looking at SV650s, I realized that a naked bike was what I was after. Not long ago, I discovered the Hornet and fell in love and now I have one to call my own I bought it today off ebay from a semi-local dealer. I think I got a steal on it at $3500. Go figure...bikes are worth next to nothing here when it's 10 degrees below zero Here are the details...
2002 CB900F (919)
3197 miles
never laid down
Two Brothers dual slip ons
To answer your questions...
Gear: No, I sold mine with the R6 but I've got 4 months to pick up new stuff before the snow's gone.
MSF: Yes
Insurance: Yes
Anyone else out there riding one of these?

I looked for months and didn't find one in my price range. The only ones I saw were $6000 carry overs from last year at the dealership. I would have loved a 650s or a Kawi 650R but there just weren't any used ones for sale around here.

I have never seen that color either. I always see the asphalt colored ones.

Sweet! Post up some pics of yours! Ever ride with a passenger? My R6 was very uncomfortable for my wife and I'm hoping this bike will give her a better riding position.

Indeed.
If the US would ride something other than just crotch rockets or cruisers, I might have been able to get an RC42 CB750F2 by now

Re: (falcongsr)
why would someone want a harley?
i have a monster s4-r. naked bikes are fun when it's warm, but spring and fall nights really suck.
it's funny, i love honda cars, but only ever owned one honda bike, a cbr600f2 that i bought new in 1994 (first new vehicle i ever owned).
i really considered a 919 when i bought the s4-r, but they gave me a great trade in my gsxr for the ducati. well great considering it was stuck in gear.

Not after witnessing first-hand the crap that my brother has had to deal with on his '04 HD Dyna Super Glide. While I was out riding, he was troubleshooting a chronic ignition problem and paying absurd prices.
All I've ever done to my appliance is change oil and repair crash damage. I like it that way.
As most HD riders would probably say, I "just don't get it." That's okay. If I have to "get it," then I don't want to. No Kool-Aid here.
Honda and BMW for me. Not that I wouldn't ride an SV650 or a Bonnie though . . . see, I have a thing for big round headlights.
