In your OP you wrote "Just brought this home let me know what you think..." So, if you don't want to hear what people actually think then DON'T POST IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. You will not come here with your shiny new bike and get an automatic handjob. You think you're different from all the other noobs who've started on a too much of a bike? You're not.

The cards are already heavily stacked against you, so take the MSF, get full gear (helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, and pants) and wear it all the time, and do a couple track days.

This site is so funny. Everyone hates on everyone. When people aren't hating there saying MSFfullGearInsurance....and the insurance is Bull **** anyway. Go find the thread on here that followed the previous advice of others....he got full insurance...crashed his bike and everyone told him not to go through his insurance cause it will go up..lol. Everyone says start out on a 250cc i don't agree with that either i got a bike a few months ago and went with a 2006 f4i and im so glad i didn't get a 250. i drove one the other day and it would have been a waste of time, felt like driving a vespa. just my opinion sorry about venting in your thread.. Ride , Be Safe, Have Fun

The insurance is to cover damage to other people's property, not necessarily your own. It will also get you out from under the note if you completely destroy your bike.

Guess what? Just because you started out with a F4i a few months ago still doesn't make it smart. Even if you are one of the few who'll manage not crash, it'll still really slow down your learning curve. A sport bike has a much smaller margin of safety and will punish mistakes a lot harder than smaller bike.

sometimes having the added power can get you out of situations. the 250 can barely get out of its own way. i feel safer on my 600. i raced quads for 7 years and rode dirtbikes my whole life. i feel i adapted to the bike faster than my friends but every person is different. yes i will learn on the streets but mostly on a track is were i will push myself. seat time will speed up my learning curve. i guess driving a 250 first gives you all the learning skills you need on a bike. does it come with some sort of magic riding manual to make you this awesome rider ? Theres a lot more to learning right then getting on a 250cc. telling people to buy a 250 is just an easy answer to 99% of the questions here. Its just getting old..my .02
