I'm naked!
Well I finally buckled down and ordered the headlight kit from aztec8. I still plan on running handlebars down the road and I've got some of the parts to get me there, but I'm still collecting.
Anyway, the conversion went pretty smoothly. Got off work at 4pm and got the conversion wrapped up around 6. I was a little ****** when I went to install the headlight and found that the hole in the aztec bracket wasn't large enough for the headlight bolt. But, 30 minutes later my brother showed up with a power drill and we got that sorted out.
Haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but tomorrow I plan on tightening everything up and heading over to cycle gear to find myself some bar end mirrors until I get my handlebar setup going.
I know everyone that clicked on this thread was expecting pictures, so here you go.
Hooray not having a garage!!
Bye jaundice headlight
Aztec parts
Messy compact tool box
Just a flesh wound!
Big bolt, small hole. Grrr
A simulation to tide myself over while I waited for my brother
And unfortunately the final picture is blurry because I was low on light, but.

Re: I'm naked! (ctownballer)
Thanks for all the replies guys!
The M4 exhaust is the ****. Moderately priced, good construction, and it sounds awesome. I came off of a yoshimura TRS-3 (i think) and the M4 is a much better sound. Nothing accents a vtwin like a nice sounding exhaust, so pull the trigger!

I can't think of anything uglier than a naked bike, looks just plain retarded. Makes it less aerodynamic too.

Haha, it did look fine. In fact it looked awesome. But I like changing things, and I really want to throw some handlebars on this thing and be even more of a hooligan.

where are you planning to get your handle bars? from what i hear you cant just drill wholes in the stock gsxr top triple for risers because it will weaken it too much. i searched but only found one place that sells a new top triple clamp with risers, bars, and longer brake lines as a kit but it says only some kits come with brake lines and doesn't specify if the gsxr it is one of them.

Re: (The Hooligan)
I'm drilling out the gsxr triple for bar mounts. Many people have done it with good success and I'm not paying 400 dollars for an lsl triple.
If the factory triple was critically weakened by two holes then it would be very strong to begin with.
I've been eye balling pro taper's mounts and bars which will probably set me back around 100 and then I need longer throttle and clutch lines.

The headlight is perfect. In the picture with the headlight actually on I hadn't adjusted everything and tightened everything down. I was running out of light and time so it was pretty much a glamor shot.
Today I rode to cycle gear and got some bar end mirrors so that I have something. Unfortunately they only had silver ones. Once I get my handlebar setup goin I'll have nice bar mounted mirrors.
