Re: (Home Skillet)
Yeah it was a pretty damned cool event. Red Bull supplied free Red Bull & Vodkas and they gave away a free tshirt with the $10 admission. They had a 7:30 showing for the press and VIP's but there was extra room there so they got some people into that showing which in turn made it easier to get into the main event, I think there might have been 10 or so empty seats in the theater for the main showing.
The movie itself was a really personal and detailed behind-the-scenes kind of thing. Kind of brings things to life in a way you obviously never get to see on the race broadcasts. Makes me even more excited about next week!

Though I was a little upset about missing the screening Wednesday night at the Dianese store 3 blocks from my house and having to drive 35 miles to Riverside, I can say that things worked out well. The event was held at Malcolm Smith new motorcycle facility, who co-hosted the event with Redbull. The whole event was free with catering and open bar and free raffle. That's right I said your two most favoritist wordz...OPEN BAR. Redbull and vodka and beer to your hearts delight.
For those of you who don't know much about the the dirt/ desert/ Baja 1000 racing scene, Malcolm Smith is a very famous racer and super kind person. If you have seen On Any Sunday or Dust to Glory then you would know.
Anyhow the movie was excellent. My heart was racing when they were preparing to grid and during the whole 20-30 minutes of the rest of the movie even though I knew the race outcome. Arguably just as exciting were the races and strategy occuring behind Nicky. Though this film did not have the same effect on me as the Faster series, I do think it did an excellent job of what it set out to do. I will wait for the Collector DVD later this year to add to my collection. This was a great fix until next week. I think if Colin gets the tire selection and Yamaha works out the bugs on the M1 I would put money on him for #1!

I am just about to go to the store to get Faster since I haven't seen it yet and I have always been a casual GP fan but recently I have been getting much more into it because Im close to getting my moto license and will hopefully get a bike soon.
Anyone know of a simlar documentary for F1? I would imagine they would have at least one cool movie about it. But then again bernie is a jackass and would charge a fortune to let them film it.

Try and find "The Quick and the Dead". It's older, like 70's, but really really good.
