If your on ground floor you could bring it inside... I know a couple of people who do.... If you live in a multiple floor apartment, park it under the stairs and chain it them them. Or rent a garage. If you do the chaining to something, id invest in a cover so you take some attention off the bike.

I've had a bike stolen from an apartment complex...really, the only thing is to have a 1st level apt and bring it inside...there is no other options really, unless they will let you put a concrete post somewhere so you can bolt it to it...

Kryptonite faghettaboutit chain, 2 kryptonite disc locks, tip/vibration/electronic alarm, sig sauer and a german shepard. If you have a jeep it wouldn't be too bad an idea to chain it to a frame mounted brush guard or the like. You can also ask the apartment management if you can put in a ground anchor. Kryptonite makes an above and in ground model. You should be able to install the above ground by yourself. A cover is also good for keepin attention to a minimum but thieves usually follow you home rather than cruise around for bikes.

I think one of the best and free ways (underground parking I assume), is to park in front of a friends car boxing in your bike. If done correctly it will make jack-*** thiefs hesitate and move on.

Screw the bike, save your money and move to a house with a garage........unless you plan on staying up most of the night. I know if I had a bike and I lived in an apt...I would never sleep.

Rent a storage unit or ask a friend to store it in their garage. Well worth the hassle and embarrasment of getting your bike stolt. Anything else is a waste of time and money. Good luck.

If you leave a bike outside it will be stolen, i guarantee it... I have met some people who stole a bike one time from a friend... its as easy as rolling it into a truck and goodbye.... locks can be cut off and alarms disconnected in seconds...
I would look into a garage, maybe you can share with another biker/friend in the same area

the best thing to do is to get ur bike indoors somehow whether its in a garage or in the living room. if its outside.. anyone can take it if they want it bad enough. its sad but true.

sleep on ur bike
seriously tho, get a u lock thing, lock up the rear rim and then get a chain, cable or something and at the same time, lock the chain/cable up to the u lock thing, then sling it around a tree, or something that can't be taken away.
yah, bikes are so easy to steal, get like 2 or 3 big guys, a truck and your bike will be gone in less then 2 minutes.

yeah, then they don't have to pick it up! Just hitch it to the truck and drive away.

"is it legal to shoot to kill a thieve?"
Umm...say hi to bubba! Nope...not legal. Now if he/she was stealing inside your house and you somehow were in fear for your life, that's another story (at least in Florida anyways).
