Honda pulls out of AMA Roadracing!

I'm not sure that racing really sells bikes/cars anymore. People have realized that the vehicle they are going to buy isn't going to have much in common with a race bike. I didn't buy an FZ6 because someone was winning races on it. I read a comparo with it, a 599 honda, and SV and it came out on top. I'm not buying a R6 because it wasn't the best bike in superstock, I wouldn't buy one because everyone says its awful on the street.
I don't think anybody goes out and buys a bike because of any race win. I think people associate the brand (ie Honda) with an image of winning and want to associate with that. Even my mother knows what supercross is about. If road racing is going to become more succuesfull than people have to know about it.

Rumor is the NSX is going on the backburners and rumors will be addressed about MotoGP for next season as well. We may know more tomorrow. This has very little to do with rules.

They won't pull out of MotoGP. Honda has pulled out of American Superbike racing before so that doesn't concern me. F1 eh, they weren't fighting for anything and competition has been less then exciting for the most part. GP they're very much in the fight and pulling out would be a catastrophe for them. I don't think they could ever recover from that.
