Honda 1984 CM 250 C is it ok to tour with
Hi
I just bought a Honda CM 250 C 1984 $1200 and is in good condition was that a fair price ? And is it a good touring bike , i heard its not but can Itake breaks so it can cool down or is it that it just cant handle high speeds for long times?
Also did i pay too much for it? some of my friends said i did pay too much , it was saftey and in great condition . The body is good and the tank has a couple of little scratches is all .

I toured with a Nighthawk 250 back in '99. I also rode it up I-95 from Virginia to Maine in '96. I don't think I would do it now, it would be dangerous. Traffic moves too fast, and drivers are too impatient and rude.

I agree but how fast did you get it up to and did it mess your bike up?

You can ride full throttle all day and your bike will be fine. You will be lucky if you get past 80 mph though.

Its not the ideal touring bike, but it will get the job done. Plenty of people on advrider have taken long trips on similar bikes.
