GIXXR VS CBR

she's cheating on you
Re: (GraphiteAccord)
Why do you have to get so butt hurt over a joke about your daytona? You love to get everyone else riled up, can't you take a little in return? And what can your daytona do that a gsxr or a cbr couldn't? This thread was about Suzuki and Honda but you still felt the need to make a negative comment since they are japanesse bikes. Stop being childish.

Yea, it's my first REAL bike...Before it, I made the mistake of owning Japanese bikes.

Slow daytona? It'll do circles around your full-faired harley wanna be.</TD></TR></TABLE>
You are probably right. The RC isn't that much faster then most 600's, top speed is a little more but as far as get up and go there really isn't that much difference, just the tourqe factor if HUGE. lol
It does sound like a harley which is pretty neat. Got the mix going on. But Im getting a CBR1000 next.

I'm really getting sick of this guy, i'm about to pull the trigger.
On another note, OP. I find the Suzuki to be a bit more comfortable than the CBR, but the CBR is a bit more nimble, and easier to corner (at least it was for me when I was a new rider) I owned a GSXR and my good buddy owned(s) a CBR, which I rode as much as if not more than my own bike. I'd say its a preference thing really, for a new rider, you're not going to notice the differences between the bikes, other than the suzuki having a touchy throttle.

Re: (EGlovr)
heres a thought...... dont look at cost but look for whats cheaper for insurance. ( prob the same) also i ask this because this is going to be your first ride. im sure its gunna be on its side one day(hope not tho)... also how easy is it to get parts for each....gsxr parts are everywhere... and lastly it comes down to prefrence. good luck!!

Re: GIXXR VS CBR
I would go for the Honda. Based on looks, I like the headlight and fairing of the CBR much more than the Gixxer. I actually hated when the Gixxers gotta new headlight redesign in 2004. It's gotten a bit better as they widened it over the years.
I'm running a 2002 GSXR 750. It's my first bike. It was pretty good at the time I bought it, but now it's falling behind. Not that I did not know it already. The technology on sportbikes changes so rapidly. The newer 600s are getting faster and faster.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for a 2006-2008 RR1000 for my next bike.

The rider is far more important than the bike.

Re: GIXXR VS CBR
lol How is an R6 or an F4i any better of a starting 600 than an RR, Gixxer, ZX6? They're all about the same speed really. I keep seeing this all the time and until I rode 10k on the street and did 3 track days I believed it too.
The rider is far more important than the bike.

That was posted a year ago. I had a 600RR with less than 10k miles, it was still very clean and never wrecked, looked modern and up to date, and made good money when i sold it.
It was hardly the ideal machine for a wobbly trainee to learn on.
I suppose there would also have been some damaged low-price units around, and the poster seems to have overlooked GSXR600's from 97-03, and ZX-6R's in his haste
