okay the torque thing you can rub in, but the gsxr 750 will crush a 675 in just about every way possible unless you got a gimp riding it.

Re: (immortal)
what a great video! the triumphs are amazing bikes. i rode my friends last week, and it truely is a "different" all around bike. i would take it over almost any bike other than the ducs. Graphite Accord im sorry for all the hate your getting, but its mainly the result of your posts way back in the year. you have an extremely nice bike and props to you for being different, so what if the price is having to deal with some codes every once in a while

Re: (crx(gator))
Well thats great and all but where is triumph at in any series? That was pure riding talent, Kennaugh was simply outridden in that race. For every triumph win you can find there are countless wins for japanese bikes.

Re: (civic08)
I love how defensive, and childish people get when a japanese bike loses...Be humble, because the European companies aren't backing down. Look at Aprilia's newest V4 offering...With Ducati already doing well, and soon Triumph will have a new incarnation of the Daytona (rumored ohlins/more HP) with more privateer backing, they all will succeed in some way.
And you'll all fall back on:

Of course, If 95% of the market is Japanese bikes, you will definitely see them do well. Have you seen the endless budgets they have? I really do hope they do well..
And you'll all fall back on:

I am in no way getting defensive. In fact you're on the offensive. Triumph wins a race and you parade it around honda tech like its the most amazing thing ever. From the little bike racing I have watched recently Honda > All and that is not an opinion it is a fact. Not hating on your triumph at all.
And this is always your logic

Why don't I see a ton of hondas? only 2 wins....

Re: (GraphiteAccord)
I said recently. And honda is at least in the top ten in BSB.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B...nship
If you scroll down the page honda won in 06 and 07. Triumph has yet to win. Hmm...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...pions
Triumph has yet to win this as well. What are you trying to prove here? I am pretty confused.

Re: The beautiful sound of a R6...getting passed by a Daytona. (pwr2lbs)
First off, the reason it has the extra 75cc's is because it has only 3 cylinders. You get an extra 75 cc's per cylinder you are "missing" as I've stated before. While its not an actual rule (at least i dont think) it is a "rule of thumb"
4 cylinders = 600
3 cylinders = 675
2 cylinders = 750
so stop with the extra 75cc arguement, because the r6 has an extra cylinder.
BUT I am not a fan of triumph. The fact that someone would post something everytime it won reveals how important just 1 victory is for this company. The reason I think this bike is doing so well is because Triumph I'm sure is pouring all their money and focus onto this bike. So if it lost it would probably bomb the company.
Im a Honda guy so just to throw something in to defend Honda I'd like to say this.....Does Triumph make any Robots/Jets/Generators/Cars/F1 cars/Boat Engines/ATVs/Jet Skis?
Edit : i will say this though. If I was forced to own a Triumph it would be a 675.

Honda won the FX title last 2 years, and nearly won the supersport title last year too.
Honda is cleaning up in world supersport, and the new 1000RR is coming along pretty well in world superbike. A big part of winning at that level comes down to the teams and the riders.
If you're going to pull up race results, look at all of them.

i like triumph's for a reason, but this is the first year of official competition for the 675. it's probably the first serious factory backed race effort for the hinckley factory. and the hinckley factory doesn't allot much money to spend on a factory racing effort. i wouldn't be surprised if the satellite teams in WSS are outspending the factory triumphs.
anyway, yes the 675 rules, no it doesn't have a long race legacy, but in the end who cares, because it's an awesome bike.

no, because the gsxr 750 has 4 cylinders and 150cc's more displacement.
is there something you don't understand about the 675 or the ducati 749/748? you do know there are different engine configurations, I3, V-twin, I4, V4, V5, flat-2, flat-6, thumpers, etc--don't you?

every mag has done a 675 vs. 750 comparo, and it's pretty much a split decision on what's the better/faster bike. FWIW, i liked my 675 better than the 750 i'm on now.
power delivery, flickability, steering feel, & powerband on the 675 is so much better than it is on the 750.

If you were paying attention... the video is from british supersport. You're talking about world supersport. Two different teams, different riders.
Ducati didnt have stellar results at Monza either. Its a place where HP and drafting plays big dividends.
Why dont you guys at least attempt to read all the race results before spewing all of this

i was up at barnes and noble the other day reading the new english mags, either superbike or fast bike and they did the new 08 600 comparo and the 600rr won again for 2 years in a row for best 600. how is the 675 losing in the 600 comparisons but a split decision in the 675/gsxr750 comparo?
and by the way i sat on an 08 red 675 daytona yesterday and was close to signing papers, just wish my bad back could take the low clip ons.

i'm not sure i trust your ability to read or understand english but here goes:

There's not much to whine about on the GSX-R750 because technically it does everything right. What it's missing is a distinct character to separate it from the crowd.
That's what the Daytona brings to the table. Edgy styling helps it stand out from the sea of Asian imports and it combines razor sharp handling with an intangible thing we like to call the Grin Factor - which is what true sport motorcycle riding is all about. Making the rider happy is what the Triumph does well and at $8999 there's plenty to smile about. Everything the 675 does is distinctive. From the throaty bark of its three-cylinder engine to the way the bike carves through corners, this is a machine that begs to be ridden at full tilt - and that fosters a unique rider/bike connection that makes riding it so damn enjoyable. The Triumph Daytona 675 is our Exile of choice.
http://www.motorcycle.com/shoo....html
tl:dr 675 beats gsxr 750 and GIXXAAAAARRRRRR 1,000,000
then there's the endurance test which had the 675 lapping jerez faster than the 06 750, and then there's the MASTERBIKE comp for 07 in which the daytona slaughtered all the other 600's, including the 07 600rr.
blah blah blah
furthermore, the bike is 3 years old w/ no major updates! that's why it's not winning the 2008 600 comparos. they need a better shock, some slight revisions to the forks, and more power if they can find it--but the 675 is not on the 2-yr model schedule that the big 4 are.
