Default OFF-ROADERS OFFICAL POST

dude i see no quad or even dirtbike post and honda has some nice ones so i though i would make a post for all the dirt lovers. just to start the talking, i got a 2000 400ex, fmf full pipe, webber carb, k&n filter, twist throtle conversion, dg bumper, new back tires but same as stock, the stocks are the greatest all around tires i have seen. oh **** i forgot about my dads honda, ~97 cr500 bored to 550 when rebuilt, fmf full pipe, webber carb, desert tank (dad hates but came on the bike, i want one for my 400), everything has been done but my dad dosent know **** about it, he just wants the speed. also the tank doesnt go up like the normal desert ones you see, it does just slightly, but it goes down the frame tubes to the point it at the cyclinder heads hight. well im tired as hell so im done writing.

I have a 04 Honda 350 Rancher, I'm not crazy about the "racing" 4 wheelers I'd rather play in the mud

About 6 months ago i just sold a 02 blaster. FMF pipe and silencer, jet kit, extened swingarm, Racing rims and wheels(i forget the brand), converted to twist throttle( best mod ever in my opion makes it easier to jump) Bored 20MM. Set up to race but never got into it. It would kill Cr250's and Banshee's.

i dont believe you, and there is no way it could happen unless the banshee was stock, a bad ring on one side, and had a horrible rider. you had 3k in mods but didnt konw what kind of "racing rims" ya had? what exactly is a racing rim? a full blown drag blaster might run with a piped/jetted shee but mod the shee and the blaster will loose.

just for reference i raced a ported, polished, .060 over, decked head, pipped, jetted, with no air box blaster on ovals. it did ok, on very small tracks but i could never beat the bigger quads, esp one a big track where they could open it up. i was 12 at the time and only raced it one seasn till i stepped up to a 250r b/c a blaster is no competition.

I recently got a 2001 400ex
-White Bros rev box
-White Bros e-series
-K&N
-Jetted (duh)
-Pro Armor bumper and swingarm skid
-DG race peg nerfs

It's decently quick. A shitblast of fun though. If you even think about a wheelie the front end comes up.

About a week after I got it, my buddy ran out and bought a 450r. ******. Now I have to upgrade. A few companies have put together 530 kits for the 450 too. *drools*

The banshee and cr 250 were both stock. Both riders were very experienced and had been riding for many years. Sounds like you are the one that can't ride. So what if i don't remember the brand of rims i had. Tires were holeshot tires. So stop trying to act like a bad *** bc I don't give a **** about quads anymore and I have better **** to do other than get on the internet and LIE to everyone. What i said was true and I don't give a **** if you believe me or not.

post some pics of the 400ex, those are great bullet proof atv's and great trail machines. the 450r though isn't the best for trail riding. i would just take the 400ex out to a 416 and not go any further. once you go past that you start running into problems. a 440 will move but still wont outrun a piped 450r, and it will kill starters and can take out a crank. if you think the 400ex stands up quick, ride the 450r.

like he said, your pretty upset, and your throwing the typical replys that most people post when it dosent line up, AKA kids, since your profile says your 18. i still don't see a 200cc, well actually a 195cc air cooled blaster will outrun a cr250 or banshee, even stock. just because they have been riding for years dosent mean they can ride, i know plenty of people who ride and have ridden a long time but still not considered fast. I've been riding before you were born and have been racing locally and nationally since 1992. i have several trophies, plaques and envelops from my past years and people on this board who have seen them, and rode my quads. what credit do you have to post something like this, its almost like the people in kills that post "my dx hatch just whooped a vett YO" . post pics, and mod list and don't get so defensive.

btw, everyone with pics post them up.

I'll take some as soon as I get my rear end reassembled. It's been outta comission for a couple of weeks. I blew the axle bearings. To make a long story short: I put new bearings in the carrier and was stumped when the axle wouldn't go all the way back into the carrier. I finally figured out that part of the bearing (half of the inside ring) was still on my axle. It broke so clean that it actually looked like it belonged there. Wasted almost three weeks of great riding weather too.

Oh believe me - I have. When the 450r was completely stock, I felt like my 400 came up much easier. It now has a 15tooth up front and they feel about the same (wheelie-wise).

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by stockcrix1616 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the 450r though isn't the best for trail riding. i would just take the 400ex out to a 416 and not go any further.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I know the 450r isn't the best trail machine ever, but it's so much faster. I don't race, but do like ripping ***. The 400 just isn't cutting it anymore. I can't justify putting anymore $ into the 400, and even if I did, it still wouldn't keep up with the 450r.

Another friend of mine races for Media Allstars. His 450r is dumb fast. Actually his quad is in MX vs ATV Unleashed.

I'll get pics of all three up as soon as I can.

just have to get on a real quad, lol 400ex's are good but they are not the fastest out there. go sit on a 310 big bore 250r or a 500cc banshee.

nce 450r boosted, but the 6 pack racka nd cooler belong on a utility. lol

You obviously have never gone to Glamis. When I go out there me and my boys will be gone for 6 hours at a time just riding. It's hot as hell out there and you need a drink cause it's just dessert and sun out there. That's when the sand rails come in handy cause they carry our gas cans for us.

LOL. You thought i was bullshittin?

Yes 'tis. Outside the video game it is piloted by Josh Upperman.

Hi Point Raceway in PA on what looks like his Media Allstars '04 bike.

He (02) and teammate Mark Kendall on the '04s.

He also races for ATV Four Play on a limited basis. He's in the middle. This is the team for the Maxxis 12hr race, and their freshly built '05.

Boosted, nope never been to glamis, but still no reason for racks on a sport atv. personally i believe the higher level atv's such as the yfz, 450r, and the z450 when released shouldnt be used for recerational riding, they can be too dangerous and people try to use them as bragging rights. if we dont police ourselves they will be attacked again but this time they will be banned. im sure not many of you remember the 250r and the quadracer, and the lawsuits that Honda and Suzuki were in because people tried to take the sport/race atvs out and ride them. people got hurt and sued the makers for their own mistakes. now days with more "its not my fault the company shouldnt make anything like this" people running around its just a matter of time.

OBD1, nice pics, i looked at atv vs mx and it looks like a crf450 hybrid thats in the game. ive got a few friends who race pro, i grew up racing with keith little and his brother locally and they helped me out at the nationals also.
here are a few of my pics,
my old 250r, and my 450r the weekend i brought it home

last weekend during practice before moto1

back years ago at lorettas on my 250r, pulled the holeshot, finished 3rd and got tied up off the start in the 2nd moto, open B i believe.

add a full exhaust and it will be a whole different quad, the power will be a night and day difference. im running a fun HMF system, if i didnt get it at a good price i would be running curtis sparks.
