I'm in the same situation as you are. I make only $220 a week after taxes and all that money is going into buying a bike. Looking for an older gixxer so i'd say it's going to be around 4-5 grand. I think i'll have enough after 5 months...

Buy all at once... you will love yourself later.
And BTW, if youve never owned a bike before, dont go spending $8k on a bike. Pickup something for like $4000 - because you will most likely end up dropping it a few times, and doing some other unspeakables on it...

go to the motorcycle forum... since you gotta be r0llin on a phAt ride y0 and you think 4k will get you an old skool bike you're obviously not ready to ride. Are all your friends getting bikes and now you want one too? You absolutely DO NOT need an R1 right now.... epsecially if you can't even figure out what you can afford on $300 a month. FYI - Insurance is going be several THOUSAND a year, unless of course you want to be Super Idiot and ride without it.

Re: (nerdish)
yea its not too bright of an idea to get a liter bike as a starter. get yourself a f2 or f3 to start on then move up to a newer 600. if your getting a bike for the image of having a bike your getting it for the wrong reason, and you probably shouldnt get one...

Have you ridden before?
If Yes goto 2.
If No goto https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=555834
2. Bike choice should be based on what suits your ability, not what makes the girls point at you.

You're looking at about $1600 or more if you don't get bike insurance with the same company as your car insurance. You should save enough money for a down payment before you start financing because you'll end up paying less. Also make sure you have extra cash just incase you lose your job or something comes up.
You should get your gear before getting a bike so you know how much you have left to spend on a bike. Gear will cost you about $1000.
BTW - There is a SPELL CHECK feature for a reason, please use it so it makes it easier to read for the rest of us.
