Default Anyone know much about Honda CL350's?

I am looking to buy a new Shadow 750, and stumbled on a listing for a '73 CL350. I think they look pretty sweet (in a retro way). I know people race these in the vintage class, and it looks pretty fun. I don't know if I'll ever do a track day in one, but would be cool just to have in the collection.

I'm thinking the parts would be hard to come by, which is my only concern. I'm not sure what condition the bike is in (the owner says "good condition", but who knows what that means ). I am going to check it out this week, but just wanted some feedback on the bike from those that know anything about them. Thanks.

(not a pic of the bike I'm looking at)

Its a single cam parallel twin... honda made TONS of them, parts are easy to get, and they're easy to keep running.

I like the scrambler pipes

Cool. Thanks for the info. It's pretty cheap, so I'll probably end up buying it. Gotta have something in the garage to work on for the upcoming winter months.

BTW, that CB400 looks awesome.

It looks clean, original and complete - if it starts and runs well, no reason to pass on it

If those pipes aren't stock, you have to get some...

Sometimes those old honda OE pipes go for more than a project bike with an aftermarket pipe will sell for. Don't go in thinking "I'll just pickup a stock pipe later on."

I just picked up a '68 CL350 a few months ago as my first bike. I've got quite a long rebuild ahead of me, but I'm gathering parts here and there.

The Scrambler pipes are definitely sweet. I plan on chopping mine right before the muffler, spraying them black, and then wrapping them in black header wrap.

For info on these old Hondas, check out http://www.sohc4.us/forums. There's a lot of great info there.

And if you want to check out the piece I'm working with, here it is:

I'm enjoying just wrenching on it for now, but it seems like it will be a great first bike.

Good luck and keep us posted.
