I concur. I would pay for that option if it were offered here in the states.

Re: Sunroof (BAR296)
There is nothing that frustrates me more than when a manufacturer forces an option on you. (IE - having sunroof as a standard feature)
I will never buy an RSX for this exact reason. 100% of RSXs in the US have sunroofs. There is no option.
Honda did it right by leaving the sunroof of of this car. Sunroofs add tons of unnecessary weight to a vehicle, and in the WORST location possible (highest point on the car). Not to mention the loss of rigidity to the chassis.
Also, I would highly recommend AGAINST aftermarket sunroofs. The natural curvature of the roof is impossible to match and seal correctly, despite what suppliers/installers might tell you. The smaller the car, the worst this case is (generally). Also, it GREATLY lowers the value of your car. Think about seeing an Integra Type-R with a sunroof. I'd guess it would lower the resell value (on that car) by thousands, if not rendering it nearly worthless (from a resell standpoint).
Just my $.02

Re: Sunroof (94si94cx)
eh, well, to some degree I agree and disagree with 94si94cx.
Sure, it doesn't so anything for the value of the car. But, comparing the value of a Type R w/ an aftermarket sunroof to a Fit w/ an aftermarket sunroof just doesn't compare.
In the case of the RSX I agree it should be optional equipment. Not everyone likes a sunroof.
I think I would have liked one in my Fit. I could careless about any additional weight. And if Honda would have offered one as a factory option then would have braced the vehicle's unibody accordingly to provide extra rigidity and support.
Then again, I don't need one too bad because I can drop the top on the S2k if I was sunshine on my head.
The sunroof that is linked to above, however, looks very nice and cleanly installed. I think it's a job well done.

Yes, this is why I would never put an aftermarket sunroof into anything. But I'm kind of picky about stuff. I'd also never put aftermarket tint on a car.

Re: Sunroof (94si94cx)
well i have had an aftermarket sunroof on my Element for the past 4 years and have never had any issues whatsoever. and i live in hurricane central. maybe in a car like the type r that would lower resale to a certain group but raise it in others. its a fit though, not a type r should have been an option, NOT standard equip but certainly an option.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Re: Sunroof
I understand your gripes with sunroofs I have an 06 Si, and i hate that Honda didnt give me a choice in the matter. But I was inquiering because my gf is about to buy a fit (and will most likely buy one regardless). She's doesnt care about the added weight, because this car is just what she is looking for and will still get better mileage than her current car even with a sunroof, only the convinence of it. Also from what i've read and seen from the other Fit forum linked above it looks stock with no leaks. The point of the topic wasnt "what are the cons of adding a sunroof" just "is it possible/has anyone done it"

Actually, and I've posted this elsewhere on the forum, I've heard from someone who's been installing sunroofs for years that they do not cause loss of rigidity to the car's chassis. If anything, they improve it. It's not so simple as just a hole punched into the roof and none of the roof bars are removed to put the sunroof/moonroof in.

Re: Sunroof (BAR296)
I know in Japan, it's a Dealer Option.. got a catalog from 2005..
hmm... in a Type R, sunroof = no need..
in a Fit.. well.. if I'll race it, it's also no need..
but for daily driving.. hmm... maybe it's good.. so Honda should have it as an option..
so does the HID, LSD, CVT, etc-etc...
now.. I think it won't ever happen.. come on.. Fit is the cheapest in Honda line-up.
in Japan, it's a best seller, so Honda pay attention to the crowds..
if the Fit is a best seller in the US, Honda will also pay attention..
for now, I'm happy for the fact that we still have a 100% japan made Honda on our shore.

My local Honda dealership can't keep Fits in stock. They sell fast here.
I keep hoping they'll bring over a Life Dunk too, but since the xB (which would be similar in design) got so big for the new generation, I don't think that will happen.
