Problem with the AUX input
Just finally got around to trying my ipod with the aux input in the Fit. Problem is that sound only comes out of the left speakers when using the mini-din connector. If I hold the connector pulled slightly out of the plug I get sound from both sides but it won't stay in that position and will just pop out. Again, if I push the connector all the way into the socket, only the left channel plays.
Anybody else notice this? or am I going back to the dealer with my first warranty issue?

I have had problems with aux cables before if they are bent or shorted out. I would try a new cable (if it's not new already) before going to the dealership.

just fyi, I tried my iPod via the standard AUX plug and had no sound problems, issues. I tried shaking it at the plug and even plugging it in halfway. Everything seemed to work fine.

If I remember the connector correctly, if the 1/8" stereo jack is half way out, that causes the left signal to be connected to both left and right in the connector. If another adapter does the same thing, it sounds like the connector in the plug is bent out too much. Generally the tip sides are larger in diameter on the jack, but not always.
What you can do is see if you can wiggle the jack a little bit, and if you got intermittent signal, then it is a bad plug in the car. Probably just one of the contacts not extending inwards enough.
You may be able to use a fine screwdriver to work it out, but only do it if you feel comfortable. Other than that, take it to the dealership.

make sure that the audio cable your using has to black rings on each end of where it would go into the aux port and the audio unit your connecting to it, i had a issue of no sound origianlly, and it turned out that i had teh incorrect cable.

Ah, didn't think of that.
This is a "stereo mini plug" aka "1/8" stereo plug".
The "shell" is also known as the "sleeve". If your plug only has a "tip" and "sleeve" you have a mono plug. If your plug has all 3 of them, then it is stereo.
