How does VTEC feel in your Fit?
Just curious to see he it is really responsive. Does it feel like a d, b, or k series engagement? Is it noticeable?

cant be much out of a 1.5 L.
use the fit for whats its worth right now, help offset the price of gas and gets u to point A to point B.

can you hear vtak? haha</TD></TR></TABLE>
that's so funny that you think the car shouldn't go past 4k during breakin...hilarious actually.
As for the feel, feels like nothing. d series is the closest match.

it is actually a switch from 3 valves, (2 exhaust in operation and 1 intake in operation) which promotes better swirl in the chamber, to 4 valves (2 exhaust in operation and 2 intake in operation) to promote better breathing.

I believe the current "break-in" suggestion by all car manufacturers these days (including HOnda) is to just NOT drive at a particular engine speed for a "long" time (whatever that means). The thought is to get the piston rings to wear into the cylinder at all engine speeds to get the best seat.

personally, i like this break in method...

my friend also just got his block back from the machine shop, and the owner told him something very similar.

i think it's funny when people want to feel VTEC.
with good tuning, your not supposed to notice the change at all. it's supposed to be an even power and torque curve from start to finish, and if there's a big VTEC jump, then your tuning is screwy and needs to be adjusted. I'm quoting Hondata for most of these parts.

Re: How does VTEC feel in your Fit? (Ah Ed)
I read the whole article, makes sense to me, I broke my bike in that way and it never uses oil, smokes or anything and goes like stink, however my last new car I tried the "owners manual recommended break-in" and it only has 17k miles on it, and it uses oil. When I get rid of my current car I will break in my next vehicle like this.

Re: (Atlas)
lol thats true.. im surprised in this day and age everyone still wants to feel vtec.. Yeah the kick is fun and cool, i like it myself, but at the end of the day you aren't going faster.
To explain why you don't want to feel VTEC. Jus think of 2 dyno plots. A VTEC only plot and a non VTEC plot from the same motor. In order to do this set VTEC to as low as it would go for the VTEC dyno map and turn off VTEC for the VTEC map. Dyno both. What you get a is a map that gets a big low end jump and power drops by somewhere where vtec normally is. With the VTEC map you get little low end power until somewhere in middle. You put both maps on top of each other and find out where they interesect. Thats where VTEC should be. As the non VTEC cam lobes run outta juice the VTEC cam lobes should take over.
