Is the Fit worth the money?
Is the fit really worth 13-16500 and up? and aren't parts kind of expensive?
I mean i love the way they look and the gas mileage but how is the ride? Please someone fill me in with personal experiance

Re: Is the Fit worth the money? (Shipwreck'D)
My b/f and I have had our Fit Sport m/t for about a month now. I would say absolutely yes, it is worth the money.
Pros:
- Amazing safety features for the money (6 airbags!)
- Great handling
- Amazing fuel economy, specially if you drive it gently
- Plenty of power for it's class
- Comfy
- Amazing (almost rediculous) cargo space and rear seat setup
Cons:
- The beautiful shifter feeling seems to fade into adequate territory kinda fast, but still nice
- No space under the front seats (trade-off for the amazing back seats)
- Radio antenna is sub-par... powerlines can mess up the signal. Speaker system is okay, but not great.
- The skirt kit can be problematic parking but that's true of any low ground clearence car... We're tempted to take our kit off, if we could find a way to plug the OEM mounting holes.
- Poor rear visibilty.
For it's class though, I think it totally kicks the *** of the competition (we originally looked at the Yaris). It's really fun to drive and I get almost giddy whenever I see the car in the driveway. That might be partly due to the fact that I've only ever had crap-cars before, but meh.

Not sure why parts would be expensive? "Cheap" to operate as any other Honda.
Overall, yes, extremely satisfied, a LOT of car for the money.
Oh, btw, every car I have ever owned (lots) has had the same issue as the Fits radio with the powerlines. Weird.

OP:
it is very well worth the price. i just ordered mine yesterday . they say it will take 4-6 weeks since they hardly ever have m/t in stock. im gettin the sport NBP.
i test drove the sport w/ paddle shifters when i went to order it. im pretty short at about 5'5 so like Digimer mentioned, the "no room under the front seats" doesnt bother me at all. i must add that the brake is very sensitive. i dont know if thats because i drove an Odyssey on the way there and the brakes on that are kinda deep. but as soon as the depress the brake on the fit, it immediately slowed down.
The DBW gas pedal is also very sensitive, gives your instant throttle.
the paddle shifters didnt really "wow" me but i guess its up to the person. its a unique feature to have.
having arm rests would have been nice
foglights come with the sport , nice lil feature to have since i currently live in the high desert and street lights are rare.
lots of rear seat leg room. ofcourse as mentioned, at the expense of front leg room
6 disc cd changer . i didnt really get to test the speakers since it was a testdrive and salesman and mother was in the car. but i did have a cd with me to test it. not bad
as for power. this car lacks alot of it. i lined up next to a new dodge ram at a red light. with testing its power in mind. and as i was flooring it with the paddle shifters, the truck remained next to me for quite some time. ofcourse he wasnt flooring it. so what this car needs is a bit more kick. intake will be comming in soon for me. not much but its a start.

.....my 2 cents on yesterdays test drive. looking forward to gettin my car within 4-6 weeks lol. lookin for a VTi-S bk. (see wtb sticky).

my brother was thinking of getting a yaris hatchback but i told em to go for the fit, now i know for sure the fit would be the better car, sad to hear about poor visibility from the rear though.
ANY downsides at all with that car?/complaints)

It's a small price to pay for a beautiful car. I have no regrets about getting the Fit at all. I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect car, but the Fit is, in my opinion, the closest to perfect in it's class that I have ever seen.

I've owned a 97 BMW 328is, 02 Audi A4 1.8t quattro, 03 Infiniti G35 coupe, and a 05 Porche Cayenne S. Oddly enough, the Fit is one of my favorite cars to drive. I currently have a Fit and G35 coupe. I choose to drive the Fit everyday. I'm even building one for time-attack purposes. . Trust me you won't go wrong with the Fit.
the fit is GO!

Re: Is the Fit worth the money? (Shipwreck'D)
this is my first post. i recently blew up my camaro and needed a car right away. im a jaguar tech and my dealership also owns a honda dealer. so i headed to the honda dealer for a nice discount on a used honda. i ended up driving out in a new vbp sport fit. when i did the math, after the savings in gas and insurance versus the camaro, i was only paying an extra 11 bucks a month. this is my first honda. i love it, but god its slow. my opinion, definetly worth the money.

what are your payments for you owners? I'm really considering going down to the dealership this week, and if they dont have any in stock, I'll special order mine with the accessories I want, and such. So what do you guys pay monthly, and what about insurance? Is the insurance low on it?

Hey Endlesswaltz. This is kind of hush hush around here but I think you should know... If you become a valuable contributor to this forum (like with informative questions like you ask) the moderators will send you contact info of a nationwide Honda fleet dealer that will get you discounts on the Fit at 3 different levels - cost, financing, and insurance. Because he's a valuable advertiser here he offers this discount to the moderators and the moderators thus pass that info along to peope like you and me. The savings include a purchase price near invoice, employee rates for financing, and discounts on insurance.
Keep it up and good luck.

Okay, how is the head room? I am 6'2.5" and love the car, but I am concerned about whether I can fit, no pun intended, into the car. Also add another 1" or so for a helmet.

See if you can follow the logic here. What do you do when you want to buy a certain pair of shoes?
I know, I know... I'm the REAL moron for being the one to respond to this kind of post.

Well unfortunately the dealership here will not be getting one in for another 3 months or so, so I cant just drive down and sit in one. Is there a problem with asking a question on a forum?

The sad thing is if your implying he "test drive" one he will be out of luck and this FORUM is so that owners can relate their experiences with others, possibly even GASP non FIT owners with questions
Answer or dont post --- save your time
The FIT has plenty of head room and I dont think a helmet will be a problem --- worst case scenario gangsta lean the seat and youll be fine
As a token of goodwill I will allow HT members to sit in pre-sold FIT's to "test seat" themselves
