Default Transmission issues??? 97 CRV AWD

Alright, so I have a 1997 Honda Cr-V AWD AUTOmatic. let me explain what I have done so far and the issues leading up to the "repairs".

bought the car- Drove it home and then it quit moving on the way home, sounded like something in the rear-end or transmission went out.

So.. I got another rear end and transmission I swapped them both out, put everything back together.
Riding down the road today I have a small vibration and a squeal from what it sounds the be from the rear end which is what I though I heard before everything blew up the first time.
I put honda Automatic trans fluid in the trans and Pump II fluid in the rear diff.

I jacked the car up on 4 jack stands and put it in DRIVE and to my surprise only the back wheels were spinning and not the front.
I then removed the drive shaft and started the car again, put it in Drive and now the car doesn't move but the transfer case on the transmission is spinning acting like the rear wheels are still connected. IS something or a sensor on that makes the rear spin? and if im correct if the rear is spinning shouldn't the front be rolling also.

The only parts I used from the swap was the axles, torque converter, and drive shaft. Everything else was changed out with the trans/rear differential.

any help would be appreciated. Yes i did some research before posting and haven't seen an issue like this.

The transmission has TWO ring gears on it. One to be driven and turn the differential for the front wheels and one that drives the "transfer case" (just a hypoid gear set) to turn the prop shaft. These ring gears are attached to each other with the same bolts. The rear differential houses a pump system that activates off of a slip differential (delta) to engage the rear wheels.

So with all that being said, from your descriptions it sounds like you have either a bad front differential (output to the front wheels) or you didn't fully engage / seat the front axle(s). If you are moving under rear end only, then the whole rest of the system should be just fine. Double check all your front end work. If everything is fully seated and splines aren't stripped on the hubs or anywhere else ( i.e. driveshaft cups), you have internal transmission problems.
