Default oil life display

How can I reset the oil life display without going to a certified mechanic? Does the mechanic use the OBD2 port to do this?

Default Re: oil life display

Turn the ignition switch to the on.
2. Press the select/reset **** repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press and hold the select/reset **** for about 10 seconds. The information display shows the reset mode (initial display will read OIL LIFE and CANCEL)
the word "CANCEL" is blinking.
4. let "OIL LIFE" indicator blinking by turning the select/reset ****, Push the same **** to enter this setting.
5. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will begin to blink. Push and hold the select/reset **** until it's set. (about 5 seconds)
6. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100%.
It specifically explains the procedure in the owners manual. It is a simple procedure using the odometer reset button on the dashboard.
