no heat when engine is warm 2007 CRV
at start up, air comes out of vents normally and continue to do so while engine is warming up (and air does get warmer as well) but when the engine reaches its normal operating temperature, air no longer comes out of vents. Also, at start up both fans behind radiator (cooling and A/C) are running whether the engine is hot or not and whether A/C is on or not. I disconnected the temp sensor located at the bottom of the radiator and fans keep running. checked the squirrel cage fan and motor and replaced filter... and still can't figure out why air stops circulating inside cabin when motor is hot... can anyone help?

resistor is not the problem.... I'll get it running tomorrow, wait for the temp to rise till I get the problem again, remove the cabin air filter and check to see if the squirrel cage is still turning once the air is hot. I have a feeling the heat of the air may be expanding the motor shaft and this either melted or used the keyway on the plastic squirrel cage... so once everything is hot, the cage no longer turns, only the shaft....

I ran the engine until air was no longer coming out of the vents, removed the cabin air filter and check the fan. She runs and air is coming out of the cavity where the filter sits. I talked to my local Honda mechanic and he is baffled at what the problem could be... I was hoping may be someone had experienced this problem before

If you think the shaft is loose on the fan...turn the fan off and put your hand in there and hold it, turn the fan on. If you feel the motor turning while you hold the fan still, replace the blower motor.
