JDM engine swap complete: Getting O2 code on '99 CRV - Help decipher?
As mentioned, I had a JDM engine put into my '99 CRV along with the needed oil pump assembly. I also got a replacement radiator and down pipe.
Just picked the car up and it runs really well.....but.....very occasionally the idle drops very low, almost to the point of stalling, and then surges. Happens around three or four times and then idles returns to normal.
I also have a lit CEL. When I read the ECU codes I see a P0132. I checked the real time values and see:
Sensor 1 / Bank 1: 1.275v
Sensor 2 / Bank 1: 0.210v
I'm going to guess that Sensor 1 is the "upstream" sensor and has a much higher than normal voltage. Also, from what I've read, the "upstream" sensor is actually an AFM sensor and not an O2 sensor. I've cleared the code several times but it returns almost immediately.
Can anyone help shed some light on this info? Also, where are the sensors located?
Thanks!

that 02 sensor is to check if the CAT is working properly, if the CAT was working previously then its the sensor , and i would check your Timing from the distributor see if its set at 16 degrees

sorry i just did a quick search earlier , it is the precat sensor its on the cat also if i remember if not then right on the downpipe connecting to the cat, you will need a 02 sensor socket to remove it. Id recommend denso for the sensor

OK,,,,,going out to check in a few. From what I've read it's near impossible to remove without dismounting the downpipe. We'll see.
First I'll check all wiring.

Update:
Luckily the down pipe is new (due to engine swap) and the sensor came off very easily with a 7/8" open end wrench. Using a specialized socket was impossible because there is no room for a ratchet. The sensor is at the top of the pipe and points up towards the engine.
I installed a < $15 sensor from Ebay, cleared the code and all appears to work fine.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Now, as luck would have it, I got a CEL (P0420 code) on my '06 Civic.
200,000+ miles with a recently installed new Engine (Long block) from Honda. Looks like I might be shopping for a Cat replacement........
