Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
Burnout's in an AWD 99 CR-V? Yes.
A 99 AWD CR-V doing burnouts? No.
Most of you know I picked this up a while back as a daily for the wife. I've since blown up my 92 CX's LS motor and found out we'll be getting a 2013 Oddy within the year for free from the in laws when they move to Korea.
This basically means the CR-V is mine. A man's car. As it should be LOL. I gotta say had I foreseen this I would have got a manual but I'm happy with her as an auto. She was never meant to be fast.
When I brought it home.
It came with the roof rack and an interior that can only be described as clean as ****. There was literally a label maker sticker that said #1 Grandma on the dashboard and it was a one owner.
I noticed a rumble in the rear end when doing a u-turn on the drive home from VA. Other than that she was chugging along perfectly getting 25 MPG on the highway. (I've since averaged 21MPG)
My initial checklist included acquiring a full set of matching headrests, cleaning the mouse nest out of the trunk area, getting the DS bumper reflector fixed, gettig a new front guard bar, flushing the diff, trans, engine oil, brake fluid and cooling system, new tires, and a new blower motor and resistor.

Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
I got everything on the checklit knocked out and decided it was time to start modding it.
My first non OEM mod was adding an OE Integra exhaust tip LOL.
I bought a full set of headrests only to find they were the wrong pattern. (Still have em and will be selling soon.) But then came across two individual ebay auctions for one left side one and one right. That's what I needed to fill my set out so I went for it.
I'm currently in the market for an Old Man Emu suspension, OEM running boards and nerf bar, Depo JDM 50/50 tails, WeatherTech window visors and all weather mats, and an OEM JDM center console armrest.
I'm back and forth on the fender mirror.
In my travels I'm seing this hook listed as a rare fullmark option... but it seems pretty useless LOL. DO most CR-V's NOT have this??
Anyway here's how she sits now with the new tires on her.
Hopefully this thread will keep me from shitting up everybody elses when they remind me of an update LOL.

Shhhh, don't tell my CRV that, she still thinks she is a European Sports Car.... I let her dream.
As far as the J-hook on the rear tailgate goes on rarity I am not sure. I have one, and every CRV I have seen the inside of had one... soo IDK?

I've seen several listings like that one for it as "JDM fullmark", but then I see it on every USDM CR-V I've seen. It doesn't seem like a highly desirable Fullmark type option, and what the hell is it for LOL. The only reason I thought maybe it WAS JDM is mine says the weight limit is 3kg and who the hell measures **** in kg in America. That said 6.6 lbs isn't much.
BTW I never said CR-V's weren't meant to be fast. If I had bought a manual I'd be dropping it and putting it on low pro tires on 16's with stiff springs and boosting like you LOL. The auto trans has me going in a different direction than I'm used to but I'm gonna have fun with it.

If it's AWD it needs a lift and some bigger tires. For dat snow nomsayin?
My wife's CRV had that stupid hook. Never had a use for it.
That table comes in handy! I used it all the time. I should have kept it lol.
And no burnouts in the crv..but you can do some mad axis spins yooooo

OME springs on the way after taxes for a 1" suspension lift all around. Currently on oversized 215/75 15 Geolandars. Might go bigger if I do a body lift with spacers in addition to the suspension lift but don't wanna go too much bigger and lose torque.

mah bad, didn't read the second post, just scrolled through for pics lol.
IIRC the OME lift will put you at alignment limits anyways, or maybe it was lift+spacers would do that...can't remember. I don't like the spacers because they limit shock travel..but that's just me.

I want another one...man I kicked *** in that thing.
Oh and BoB there's a 'JDM' fender mirror you can buy for LHD vehicles so it's actually useful as a blindspot mirror...actual jdm mirror is kind of useless on LHD vehicles.

I was worried about mirror angle. Because of my height I have a much larger blind spot on the left side. Hoping to find something to work. I was dead set on not getting one because it looks kinda wonky but I almost took someone out the other day cause they were hovering in the spot of death.

I haven't looked into that yet, but for sure an automatic j swap is doable in a crv, using the lowest settings on the hasport mounts and not worry about damaging the oil pan, using a honda fit steering wheel and wire in the paddle shifters. Damn just gave away another idea....but yeah more food for thought. Some nice guys up in New York know there j swaps. Forgot the shop but its rpm something..

I've seen people say everything from they use it to loop the grocery bag handles on so stuff doesn't slide around too much to it's for hanging a trash bag or lantern when camping.
The manual doesn't specify.
Alright another thing the manual doesn't say is what goes in the little access door with the two thumb screws below the hook on the door? I'm guessing a hazard triangle or flares or your roadside tool kit or some ****. Mine was empty though. Just has two straps to hold SOMETHING down. What do you guys use yours for?

I think that was a mystery in the USA. Just an extra storage compartment.
I used to put a tow strap or recovery strap in there.

No, it's for your jack components (lug nut wrench, bar, etc). Your jack is under the plastic housing that is under the table. Kind of silly to get to, but then again you shouldn't ever need it in a perfect world.
I have straps, bungee cords, and other miscellaneous items in the compartment myself too though.

I kept a cheapo depot harbor freight 12v air compressor in the spare tire well...it's a cheap investment and it works well.
12V 100 PSI High Volume Air Compressor
It was 25$ when I bought it...and I used a 20% off coupon to make it a tad bit cheaper..
