After Drive Shaft replacement

After Drive Shaft replacement
I have a 97 CRV with 213k miles on it. I have had to put very little work into it so it has been a really good car. Was hoping to push it to 300k. I had my drive shaft replaced about 5 months ago (rebuilt) and since doing so I have a lot more noise.
It sounds like a rotation noise and the faster I go the louder it gets.
I could be just more annoyed with it but it sounds like it is louder now than when I first had it done. Also have been told by a garage I needed to replace swayback bar - could this be part of it?
FYI...recently sealed a hole on my exhaust with JB Weld Steelstik and Permatex bandage tape which worked awesome. Would suggest using the combo for anyone needing to repair any leaks.
Thanks for any info!

was the bearring in the middle also replaced? repairs on old vehicles allways comes with some extra things to be replaced. I know! got one myself
I think the only thing to do is gettting it up in the air and take a look underneath.
And eeeh! did they drain and refill the rear differential with new HONDA oil, also the gearbox. Both things are very important, and you cant find similar oil from other marks. A lot of pages selling oil allways refer to Honda manual then it comes to these two types of lubricant

Re: After Drive Shaft replacement
One can assume that the OP means REAR driveshaft (propeller shaft) rather than the FRONT CV (constant velocity) axles or REAR CV axles, but some people don't know the proper names. So please confirm what exactly you are talking about because there is a HUGE difference between the three. Do you have a RT4WD CRV as well?
If it was in fact the propeller shaft, did the mechanic replace the U-joints himself or was it purchased through a rebuild facility (more common)? If it was himself, what part numbers did he use? Either way it would help to have an up close picture as well.
As far as the carrier bearing goes, I have been told time and time again nobody can source one and can't find one myself. Depending on what is going on with the sway bar an endlink may be hitting something somehow, but highly unlikely - so no, the rear swaybar wouldn't cause your issue.

Re: After Drive Shaft replacement
Turned out to be the front wheel bearings going bad. Had them replaced, all is good now and my ride is much quieter! It just might make it to 300,000!

Re: After Drive Shaft replacement
I missed this thread with your sound post. Sorry about that. FWIW, I did end up finding a carrier bearling haha! Glad to hear you got it figured out though.

Re: After Drive Shaft replacement
New here and not sure how to use the forum. I have a 2000 honda crv. the U joint is broken (been having vibration and my son found the joint was broken). Since the car has over 300,000 miles I decided to bite the bullet and order a new drive shaft. Can anyone give me an idea what labor costs would be do replace the shaft?
