ZC Tranny install info needed
Hello, I was wondering if a 88 si clutch kit would fit a ZC Tranny? I was previously using my old si tranny for my ZC engine.
How many splines does the ZC tranny have? Does this matter since I have the exclusive half shaft for the ZC tranny?
Thanks in advance!

It does matter, even if you have the intermediate shaft. What matters is the year of the ZC tranny also, I believe that they also came with either a 20 spline, or 21 spline Input shaft,

Okay, so the ZC in 88 came with the 21 spline like the Si tranny? And if that's the case I can use the 88 Si clutch kit?
Do you know how to identify the year of my ZC tranny? I guess I could also count the splines on the input shaft right?
thanks again!

Can anyone else help with your input here? I assumed that all ZC transmissions were the same 88-91 ?
I just need to know if I can use my 88 si clutch kit or buy a new one that would fit the ZC tranny and if so what year model clutch kit?
thanks again!

no they are not all the same. I unfortunately got the 88 trans and had to use the smaller flywheel and clutch setup. You have to count the splines to see which one you have and use the clutch for that.
Do you have the trans already?

Thanks man, yes I do have the ZC Tranny. I guess I just have to count the splines on the input shaft then and see. I know the 88 si tranny was the only one with 21 splines 89-91 years had 20 splines. 88 also had the smaller 200mm flywheel I believe...
Anyone else have any suggestions? Is there a clear and easy way to determine what year my ZC tranny is? Or what kind of year clutch fits in what ZC Tranny's?Unfortunately I haven't seen to much in depth info on ZC transmissions...
