Would you buy an Ls/Vtec CRX for 3500obo or buy it stock for 2k and Build your D-series
I made this poll to see what people would do If there were such options available. I myself have a very nice good condition CRX that I am selling (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1078922) and wonder what to do with it, as far as swapping and/or selling.
The example CRX for this poll is the one in the link . Keep in mind the chassis and all its components are All Almost Brand New since the car has no rust and has All- Brand-New parts http://www.angelfire.com/nc3/n...html
Tell me what you think.
And remember, you can always upgrade an LS/VTEC to GS-R or ITR quality/standards.

Hmm...thats a toughie.
If you KNOW that the LS/VTEC was done right by a capable person, and everything checks out...that is definitley the cheapest way to go...so that's my vote.

I wouldn't trust another person with LS/VTEC if I didn't know them...

Hmmm... Let's see... I know exactly ONE person with a B18 in his CRX that I'd trust (davens), and it's not an LS/VTEC, just a run-of-the-mill B18b with bolt-ons. I'd buy his car for the $3000 or so talked about, but not one that I didn't know personally. I don't really like buying other people's problems - I prefer to make my OWN problems!

The general response would be the same as mine, buy the Crx for 2k and build yourself. You don't know how well built the LS/VTEC is do you?

i would take the crx with the LS and boost that ****
ls/vtecs blow up sometimes.
poor mans type-r, well thats a different story since those blocks are made to rev but that wasnt an option, so

y-49crx: i miss the NHL too!!

Buy it stock so you know Everything that has bin changed or worked on thats the way I look at it I dont trust the car if it has had aftermarket parts installed on it not by me or my mechanic.....Never know what they rigged and what they did right

none, those prices are outrageous!
the stock crx in "good" condition would be only worth 1500 or less.
with LS swap probly 2000 or less.
with LSV 2300 or less.
if it was like that^^ i'd get the LSV if they built it for the purpose of selling it to me not if it was already in the car if it already in the car pay less.
I got my ok condition crx with LS swap for 2 something. it's only worth 2000 or less to me though but he's my friend's friend so I couldnt really lowball and plus I didnt have cash and had to sell my car and I put dibbs on it so for the sake of convienence i paid extra. by the way where do you guys live at I will go sell my car over there ahahhaah

Re: (ef_you)

now that sai and after only looking at some of the pics i say dont pay more then 2000 for that thing it looks like that dude is a ricer and if he is he probably didnt drive it like a little old lady and hes selling it cause hes worried or something.

Re: (pSI civic)
It has a carfax. CERTIFiED no problems. I'm NOT a ricer, other wise there'd be a gay-*** weed wacker muffler, body kit, $400 worthless p.o.s fiberglass wing on there. I have the quiet flow master too.
For the guy 2 posts up, you are in lala land. an ls Swap alone not including mounts and linkage is $500+ depending on condition. Mounts and linkage are $300 more, and a b16 head w/dizzy is another $400 plus depending on its condition. Not to mention a $100 conversion harness, and wiring for VTEC. An LS/vtec is probably the best way to go, but I agree with the others on here, buy the car, and build it yourself. thanks guys .

2500-3500 for a good stock Si is better than buying a car already swapped. I got an 89 Si w/an LS for 2000. I knew the guy who swapped it in, and it ran good for a year. but then it died. so I'm throwin a new motor in it which is gonna cost me a couple grand.... I was broke at the time though and really needed a car, that's why I bought it, but I'd rather be ridin in a stock Si right now then relying on people for rides w/an LS Si in my driveway

I havnt read the entire topic but if the ls/vtec setup was done correctly and not by idiots go with that, it would be more than worth it by far.

buy the LSR CRX and sell the LSR motor for 1500 complete swap. and you've got your self a crx and 1500. you can do whatever you want to it.

I'd buy the LS and probably rebuild it for turbo. Swaps get pretty expensive, but double check the work thats been done and the type of mounts used. the little things like that which will save you a hassle.
