Window Reg 91 CRX si Summer time SOS!!!
Hi everyone,
I'm brand new here and REALLY need help! I have a 91 crx si, and I've been getting by only using one window in this car with no AC for the past 8 years. I live in Northern California and this summer the temperatures are absolutely brutal and I can't handle it anymore. This is my daily driver and I commute to work, and lately I feel so sick by the time I get to work or home from the heat so I really could use someones help.
I was told my window regulator is probably shot (crank is pretty much stuck and window falls at an angle if I try to roll it up or down) I know a mechanic who could probably replace it for me, but I am having one hell of a time getting the regulator itself. I work full time so going down to pick yards is pretty out of the question, and I am unfortunately nowhere near mechanically inclined enough to do this myself. Does anyone here know of where I can find a regulator that will fit my si? Any help would be so greatly appreciated!!

for a direct fit you need to find it from a crx. as well as figure out what else might be wrong. may need to realign the tracks or replace if theyre tweaked.
take your car to the shop if you cant do it yourself.
sorry for your sob story. i dont see how its relevant.

BTW you can take your car to any pick your part junkyard and theres probably a shack where they service windows and doors for you. I have to imagine its cheap labor, and they'll probably have parts ready.

My old '91 Civic passenger window fell at an angle. It turned out that the track was bent in so that the window couldn't pass through the channel, so my buddy of course cranked on it as hard as he could and broke the regulator. It took me 2 months to find a decent regulator for it because all the aftermarket regs are for sedans. It really wasn't that bad to install. You just need someone to hold the window for you for a little while. Once you get the door panel off, it's pretty self-explanatory.
Good luck!
Window fallen:
Track was bent in as if someone (probably previous owner) had bent it in with a pair of pliers:
My buddy bent the regulator here when he tried to gorilla-crank it:
Good luck!

I never had any intention of doing it myself, I've spoken with 2 places who said they will do the work, but I need to locate the parts as they are unable to order them, so that's what I was trying to do. Thought maybe someone knew of a website I could try that dealt with older honda parts or something. Anyways, called around to a few pick and pulls and they have no crx's at the moment However, I found one on ebay for $89 that supposedly came from another si, so if it's still available by payday, I'll go ahead and order it. Hoping to get this fixed before August, that's when things really heat up around here.
Happy 4th, guys!
