Will A/C system work with mini swap?
Just curious if the p28 affects the a/c at all? or if I need to wire it up with the jumper harness I made

I really dont think so, you made your own conversion harness?? if everything matches up right, you should be fine.

How won't it work though? What is the problem? How are some people able to maintain there a/c when they do b-series swaps?

With a B series you have to buy an AC bracket from hasport. About the minime AC I dunno, but I dont see why you wouldnt be able to. As long as it all bolts to the same locations, it will work. You might have to bend a couple lines but that should be it.

I was aware of the b16 a/c hasport bracket, and I am positive it will fit I guess I am more curious if the ecu will work with it. Or does the ecu prevent me from using a/c?

The ECU does NOT control the AC. nothing will have to be changed for mini me swap. No lines, nothing. All you are doing is changing the head over. btw- Mini me is crap and a waste of time and effort.

alright man what is your problem? You are giving me no type of advice at all. I am not wondering if a mini-me is crap or not. If I wanted to know that I would have asked.
Thats all I was wondering and now after you pointed it out that the ecu doesn't affect the a/c I understand. I forgot the a/c runs on a seperate subharness. Thank you for your assistance and letting me be knowledgable in the fact a mini-me sucks.
Btw. I am putting together b17a to put in it but I suppose that is crap too. Oh yeah this is my dairly driver

My friend Chad and I did these about two years ago and they were pretty much garbage. They ran just like stock. I dunno, just a waste of three hours for me.

Eh, what do you expect for about a one point bump in compression. How was the gas mileage on that mini-me setup. I've read posts that have people stating that they get 40+ mpg after doing their setup. Of course the offset of running higher octane might negate that, but the slight bump in power kinda sounds like fun.
It looks like the costs of getting the mini-me to run correctly would be a little less than what it would cost to get a d16z6 or d16y8 with a OBD1 change over.

Re: Will A/C system work with mini swap? (yellowcrx1991)
I get good gas mileage (d15b2 w/z6 head on it) with it. Never really keep track of accurate gas mileage I just go by how many dies lol .
And as far as price. I had the parts laying around, z6 complete head, block. All I paid for was headgasket and p28.
I made my own harness to get it running correctly.
So about 180 bucks I got a nice running somewhat speedy whip . Now just waiting on d15b camshaft to get here

Re: Will A/C system work with mini swap? (vtecn8ive)
i was helping a friend w/ his obd1 / D16Z6 swap and we found the computer does control the A/C. when you turn on the ac the computer revs up the motor and engagues the clutch. if the motor is having a prolblem like missing badly the computer wont turn on the ac blow a certon RPM. i wana say thats 500 but i dont know that for sure. think of the ecu beeing the final switch to turn on the clutch; it has the final say so.
