Re: What to do with my taxes???
I personally wouldn't jump straight to the turbo (then again I'm an N/A guy)
I know with my EF, when I get my tax returns I'll be doing the following, probably in this order until I run out of money.
-Seats
-Steering wheel (my legs hit the OE one if I'm pulled up far enough to reach the wheel, legs too long to heel toe without bumping wheel with my knee).
-Wheels and tires (195[or 205]/50/15)
-Si Dash
-DOHC
-MPFI
-CAI
-Exhaust
- Transmission (syncros iffy in current one)
-Pedals
-Radio and speakers (currently no sound system)
But that's just me, I like to get the little details out of the way before I start doing big engine things.

Re: What to do with my taxes???
I've been in the EXACT frame of mind you are right now. Got a whole bunch of $$ comin' my way and all I can think is "how can I make my car faster".... Boy oh boy how I wish I would have spent that money better (however I spent 12k on badass CRX track monster).
When I was 21-23 years old:
In retrospect, I should have NEVER spent the money on my CRX, instead of should of done this:
My current race car:
The reason I show you all of this is because I wish someone had shown it to me when I first starting making my Daily Driver more "fun". The reason: having a "fun" daily driver is in NO WAY anywhere near as fun as racing or competitive go-karting. On the track (race track or kart track), you can go as FAST as you possibly can without getting tickets, endangering people's lives or killing yourself.
I just sold my s2000 so that I can race more during the season and go-kart more during the off-season and I don't regret it one bit.
Of course, you could spend that $2k on education, investment, paying off debt... etc etc. All good ideas but I'm a gearhead so even though you should do "those" things, my real advice is to spend it "better" going fast!

What's your goal? If you go turbo what will happen is youll get bored of the power fast and youll end up wanting a bigger and better setup. More money
I would do suspension and good tires. You'll have more fun.

I would first fix the bad things the car has.If you got any money left then you make it more fun.A turbo its gonna cost you a bit, lower it,Or paint it, if it needs a paint job.

Re: What to do with my taxes???
LOL!! This is really bugging me. I've been thinking about all the things you guys have been saying. Valvetrain, suspension, tires, brakes...turbo! On one hand I have speed. On the other I have suspension. I was thinking of breaking it down by cost, thats the major factor.
Shocks-250(tokicos)
headers-220(ebay)
rear/front camber control arm kit-215(ebay)
apex vafc-80(buddy at work)
clutch-280-(ebay)
$50 paint job-(H-T!!!)
obd-0 to obd-1 jumper-90(swapshopracing.com)
not sure what ecu- thinking maybe 130?(craigslist)
need a distributor right?-130?(craigslist)
Leaves me with about 500. Maybe an intake manifold? What do you want to do to your car? Unless of course you have debt to pay off like rice classic says, lol. Good point by the way...Point is to get more and spend less. Lets stay away from the really cheap stuff though. You know what Im talking about. Lets hear your ideas h-t.
