weird crx issue (beeping)
Okay let me try to explain it. Well I've got a 91 CRX HF, screen name is for my coupe. Okay problem is the "beeping noise" not sure which one exactly but my dash is lighting up the "open door" and "seat belt" lights.
The day before it happen (today) I was picking up my sis from school and I was in a rush to get home to pee! (yes, pee! what I get for trying to stay with the 8 cups a day ? ) ANyways I was kinda of in a rush so I was just yelling to dumb drivers and kinda pressing/banging slitly on the "horn" (although someone on HT told me HF didn't came with horn, but when I got a new bumper I went to put it on and notice it had a horn, just not working for some reason ) So I was pressing/slitly hitting the horn wished it work when I do need to use it at freaken dumb driver!like today freaking old grandpa took off on a red on- on coming lane when I had the turn light
Anyways now today after work drove home and every time I step on the brake it would "beep", although it first "beeped" when I drove over a slab of steel on the street (street workers fixing nasty streets) so I don't know what it is I should check? ANy ideas? I was just going to try to reset it (battery/fuse) but I just kinda left it-will do it till tomorrow since gotta work in the morning. BUT anyways the weird thing is when I'm not pressing on the brakes/stoping and only pressed on the horn on certain areas to try and see (thinking it has somethig to do with it? ) and it "beeps" and the same two lights I explain would come on till I let go of pressing the horn or brakes which ever I'm pressing on. SO let me know you you guys think it is. TIA

Re: weird crx issue (JDMegCoupe)
wow... hard to understand but i'll give it a go...
sounds like you have a: a short circuit somewhere between your horn and the chassis, so when you press the brake, and the cars leaning in to the brake the earth wire touches the chassis - therfore engaging the horn.
Look for bare wires around your horn, disconnect the horn completly and see if it does it again whilst braking... if not, then its an earthing problem on your horn.

yeah I know sorry =P tried to explain it well as I could (maybe it's the way I explained it?=p) but basically the two lights would come up when I'm pressing the brake or horn so yeah. Well I'll check for wires on the horn otherwise I don't know I'll have to keep listening to it everytime I brake
P.S. Is the CRX horn the one I read where you had to keep a certain pin/screw at a straight or something otherwise it's a pain in the *** to put it back together or something of that sorth?

sounds like your experiencing some grounding issues somewhere. something is interfering with the positive and ground wires and in turn has an effect on your dash lights.
not sure what you mean about the pin/screw bit...?

Re: (SINISTR)
well okay thanks anyways...it's already dark so yeah first thing after work tomorrow I gotta do something about it. As far as the pin/screw thingy, thinking about it I think that might be only for taking the whole steering wheel a little reading I did a while ago on CRX or CIVIC steering wheels? BUT thanks I'll see how it goes tomorrow...

In case you are having to register:

"It's the stop/horn fuse in the underhood fuse box. Get a few spare 15 amp fuses and see if using your horn blows the fuse... They tend to do that when they die."
My friend replied:
Sure enough, it was the horn/stop fuse... Thanks for the advice!

In my case because it only happen today could it have been the bump from the metal steel slab on the street that I ran over? Because nothing happen yesterday? WOuld that also explain why my horn is not working or is that something different? Because even before the beeping noise i't's never worked and I did plug it in when I went to put on the new bumper because some odd reason it wasn't pluged in....

Re: (JDMegCoupe)
Your horn may be bad and that is why it was unplugged..
Someone unplugged it,Then replaced the fuse...
You plugged it back in,Then hit the horn and the fuse blew..
That would be my guess..

Re: (88DXCRX)
I'll def. replace the fuse a BIG thanks on that instead of having to go through messing with the horn button . But I will look into the horn it'self see if it's bad/replace it because I could use it had too many close calls and I hate to loose the REX still clean and got plans for her THANKS
