Default Weird brake problem

Just wanted to get an opinion on something.

Ok so my front left brake is holding fluid pressure. When I pop the bleeder valve open the pressure is relieved and the brakes are no longer seized. Now the weird thing about this is the fluid only builds up when the brakes heat up. I have to go around the block a couple of times and heat them up before they seize up. After that, I can just pump the brakes and the pressure builds up. When I first start up the car cold and drive it works fine.

Car Info:

88 Civic Hatch

Integra da brakes

40/40 prop valve

Speed bleeders

Stock master cylinder

Stock brake booster

Let me know if any other info is needed.

Stock brake booster & master cylinder from the hatch or the DA?
In that case if you're running the hatch BB&MC you should use instead those off of thee
car the brake came off of. (DA) However, I'm not to sure about the Speed Bleeders.

Sounds like the brake hose is collapsed inside and not letting the pressure back out of the caliper.

Try changing the brake hose on that wheel.

i've used this setup before and had no problems so i dont think thats the problem. Thanks for the input though definetly something to try out.

collapsed break hose, would that explain why it only holds pressure after heating up though. I like the sound of that though it explains why it's only on that one wheel.

Any other ideas guys i'm going to start working on it this weekend. the more ideas i got the better.

Does not explain the heating up part but the more you use the brakes you push more fluid through the "blockage" and the less fluid is able to get back out so it might not be a heating up issue just more fluid going in and sticking the caliper.

Just reread your first post and to touch on the heat thing, why would opening the bleeder screw do anything to a heat problem unless you have water or air in the brake lines.
Its about $20-$25 bucks for a new brake hose thats where I would start personally.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I used the 88hatch mc and bb on my da disc conversion for like five months and it worked just fine. I did get better braking when i switched them to the integra ones but that is all that changed. You either have a blocked brake line or a failing caliper.

Is this only happening to the left front caliper, or are the other three brakes building up pressure as well?

How did you install the Integra front brakes? Did you swap knuckles, or did you use some method to bolt the Integra calipers to your Civic knuckles?

Did this just start happening out of the blue, or did it occur after you make changes or repairs?
