Would the Geometry be correct for correct harness placement?

It does appear that the Bar is about a 1/2' lower then the top of the seats.

the geometry might be right, but that mounting points is not nearly strong enough to mount a harness to. i know i sure as hell wouldn't mount a harness there.

Hrmmm...

The bar looks extreemly strong. . BTW, it is designed to be extreemly strong in the fact that it is BRACING the chassis. From what I can tell it is more then strong enough.

I have seen many RX7's with harnesses mounted to their rear strut bar, and all of them seem to be comparable to what it would be in the CRX.

I need more opinions on this.

I would go with this option, I still don't understand why people ask questions and someone gives an answer yet the person who asked the question tells everyone that they are going to do it anyway.

I am going with an Autopower "Race" Roll Bar.

The main reason of me asking this question, is if I could use the Tie Bar as a harness mount, then I can save 50 bucks by not getting the "harness bar" on the roll bar.

you can always make your own bracket for the harness off the autopower bar. not too hard, and you can have someone local weld it on for u

In the big picture 50 bucks isn't that much. If you are getting a roll bar I think it would be crazy not to go ahead and get one set up for the harness. No need to skimp on safety.

DO NOT use the Skunk 2 bar as a safety belt mounting bar.
That bar is made out of THIN HOLLOW extruded aluminum.
Do this, drill the holes needed for the safety belt, then jump on it at the point where you drilled. I bet you will go through it.

I know it's hollow. I have the front one as well, and I needed to grind a section out for the Idle control valve.

just get the harness bar and maintain the proper angles to avoid spinal compression , it doesnt seem too tough to me....
