Trailing arm Swap... W H Y??? crx si to DA
So on my 1991 honda crx si.... yes it comes factory with disc brakes... the trailing arm bushings were shot. decided to press them out, picked up 2 new bushings which are readily available for most older hondas with 3.16 diameter... and when it came time to press in, there small and slide in/out like nothing
Is there any benefit to swapping a 90-93 DA integra trailing arm to a crx?
I just did new pads/rotors/calipers 2 months ago and the crx parts bolted right up. also have new struts to replace my current blown 1s which i bought under the crx part numbers. have not installed them though so dunno about fitment.
Mainly curious for others who have done this, what was the point?

Usually to upgrade from drums to da disks. Tha's the point.
Since you have a 91 si, I'd prefer to keep it Oem.
The rear brakes hardly do any work at all.

DA had a different track width. im pretty sure the difference is in the rear hub/spindle. better? probably not.
but im confused why your replacement trailing arm bushing slid thru your assumedly stock Si rear trailing arm. the DA's have about 2mm larger diameter bushing. so it just doesnt make sense unless someone already swapped the trailing arms.

Re: Trailing arm Swap... W H Y??? crx si to DA
Forgot i posted this lol. My passenger side was still a CRX trailing arm, but the driver side was a DA trailing arm.
the only real difference i see is a bigger trailing arm bushing, because everything else im using on the DA arm is crx parts and it bolts up just fine.
Assuming a previous owner bent or destroyed the trailing arm and this DA was available at the time. luckily theres 0 damage in that area so its a mystery lol

beyond parts "bolting up just fine" and the bushing diameter, youre not paying attention if you think the two trailing arms are the same.
Whoops, never mind the below link is showing DC vs EF arms. Not DA. But still goes to show just because things bolt up they aren't the same.
pics are gone. measurement difference is 6.0mm in flange height between CRX Si and GSR rear hub.

i'd [still] look into replacing the DA trailing arm.
here are the images btw

somebody mentioned last week that the other then the bushing being bigger, that the tire itself would sit out farther. but other then that DA is what a lot of people with drums swap to, and iv driven for 2yrs daily/track without noticing the difference.
i can trick myself into thinking my driver rear tire sits out further but if it actually does who knows lol
